Crowne Plaza Glasgow

"We were only day guests at this hotel so our star rating only reflects that experience, not hotel rooms etc. We attended for a spa day and the man on main reception helpfully informed us that we did not need to pay the £10 parking as instructed on outside signage. We headed straight round to use the facilities before our treatment time. The gym area is very small given the size of the hotel but the first true negative was the state of the women’s changing rooms. They were filthy. Big puddles of water everywhere (about 2cm deep in places), hair all over the floor and dirty towels piled high on the sides waiting to be cleared. Thankfully the pool area, sauna etc were cleaner but disappointingly nowhere for relaxation asides from a handful of wicker dining chairs around the side of the pool. Onto treatments, we were taken punctually to the treatment rooms but then left for an unnecessarily long time to get undressed and onto the bed (we each had this experience with both therapists in our separate rooms). The massage itself started with okay pressure (and she did check about 5 mins in) but weakened as it went on. Based on my experience at the spa, I would not return to the Crowne Plaza as I worry that this is indicative of the standards in other areas of the hotel."

"I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow on 2–3 May 2026 in Room 1105, booked as a Premium room at £274 + VAT. I am an IHG One Rewards Diamond Ambassador with over 84 nights this year across the brand, so I do not write this lightly. The stay fell materially below what is reasonable for a Crowne Plaza, let alone a Premium room. Room condition – multiple failures No working air conditioning. I was offered a portable fan as a "solution." On the same nights, a Premier Inn 20 metres away (where some of my colleagues had to book) had fully functioning AC for £59. Broken wardrobe door. It could not be opened on the first night. A handyman came, but rather than repair it, he removed the door and propped it inside the wardrobe so it would slide. It made me wonder how the wardrobe is ever cleaned or inspected. Unsecured safe. With the wardrobe broken, the safe was held in place by a set of folded hotel key cards wedged behind it to keep it looking aligned. Genuinely unbelievable in a "Premium" room. No minibar, no bottled water, no bathrobe – all advertised as standard for Premium rooms. Lifts barely functional. Up to 7 minutes to get from the room to the ground floor, with both lifts stopping at every single floor in both directions. Club Lounge – not what is advertised The IHG app sells the Executive/Club Lounge as offering "complimentary drinks and snacks throughout the day." The reality: Most of the day, just water, coffee and juice. No meaningful snacks. Reception told me drinks were available 17:00–21:00; the lounge itself said 18:00–20:00. Inconsistent and unprofessional. Friday at 19:00 the lounge was effectively empty (just nachos) because it "needed restocking." Saturday's offering was bread, cold meats, nachos, cheese, wine and cola – well below what any business traveller would expect. The Radisson RED across the road offers more, for roughly half the room rate. Response to complaint – inadequate I raised everything with reception (Dariusz) on the morning of 2 May. The "remedy" was a bottle of water and a handyman who made the wardrobe worse, not better. The AC was never fixed. I asked to cancel and leave, but pre-booked work meetings made relocation impractical. I was effectively stuck. After a formal written complaint citing the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the hotel's offer was 30,000 IHG points – which I declined. The redemption value falls well below the room rate, and the issue is breach of contract, not a goodwill gesture. As of writing, the refund has still not been processed and I am now pursuing this via Section 75 and Trading Standards. One positive The restaurant and food service were genuinely excellent – the only reason this isn't a zero across the board if such a thing existed. Credit to the F&B team."

"We stayed in a 12th floor Super King 1 Bedroom Suite with our 13 year old daughter. Perfect for attending a gig at the Hydro. Room was clean with all the amenities you would hope to have. Slight downside would be the tired furniture and furnishings. Definitely in need of a refurbishment. Breakfast was good. Large hot selection. Not so much on the healthier side of things (more fruit options would be good, at the very least). But there is more than enough to set you up for the day. But at nearly half the price of the Radisson Red for a similar room, it was very much value for money. We would definitely consider staying here again."
