What Ten Hill Place Hotel has to offer
Arthur’s Seat
The highest of four peaks that make up the remains of an extinct volcano, Arthur’s Seat is one of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks and the best vantage point for magnificent views overlooking the city and out towards the coast and mountains in the distance. There are several routes to the top, all of them starting in Holyrood Park – around 15 minutes’ walk away from the hotel and taking roughly 30 minutes to an hour to complete. It gets rather steep at points, but it’s well worth the effort once you reach the summit.
The Royal Mile
No trip to Edinburgh is complete without taking a stroll up and down the Royal Mile – the street that runs the length of the Old Town, from the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the bottom to Edinburgh Castle at the top. You can walk there in less than 10 minutes from the hotel. It’s home to a dizzying array of places to eat, drink and shop, as well as several museums, a cathedral and all kinds of street performers. The narrow, twisting cobbled streets that branch off on either side deserve plenty of exploration, too.
National Museum of Scotland
Just a five-minute walk away from the hotel, you’ll find the National Museum of Scotland, which offers a fascinating insight into the history of Scotland through a comprehensive series of exhibitions and events on nature, science, technology, art, culture and more. It’s open every day from 10am-5pm and entry is completely free.
