Stay in the heart of Edinburgh

Edinburgh is bursting at the seams with art and culture, so it’s no surprise that people flock from the world over to this corner of Scotland. Between the historical buildings, quaint cobblestone streets, and thriving foodie scene, there’s plenty here to keep you busy for a whirlwind city break. And that’s not to mention the world’s biggest theatre and comedy festival, Fringe, which happens every August like clockwork. Whether you’re visiting for the comedy, the culture, or something else entirely, Point A Edinburgh is a great place to call home for a few days thanks to its location at the heart of the action.

When you’re ready to kick off the sightseeing, be sure to make time to explore Edinburgh Castle, which is handily just 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The castle – which dates back to the 11th century – is Scotland’s most iconic landmark, and just so happens to be standing on an extinct volcano. Calton Hill, meanwhile, has got some of the best views of the city, and if that’s next on your list it’s just a 17-minute walk from the castle.

If you’re up bright and early, you’ll have your pick of breakfast places in town, and a hearty Scottish breakfast is a must. The hotel lays on a buffet each morning, too, so there’s no need to venture out if you don’t fancy it – or if you’re craving a few precious extra minutes in bed.
