Macdonald Holyrood Hotel

"Great hotel, perfectly situated for exploring Edinburgh, situated right next to the Scottish Parliament and 5 minutes walk from Holyrood House (well worth a visit). We stayed in a twin room on the ground floor which was modern, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The beds being extremely so, and the room was very quiet so we slept very well. We had a minor problem on arrival, as the room was cold and the heating control was not responding. Within a couple of minutes of notifying reception, a maintenance technician came and sorted the problem for us. Breakfast is excellent, with a very wide range of tasty, well presented food. We also ate here both evenings of our stay and although the menu is limited, the food was again well presented and tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful and service was exceptional. We really enjoyed our break. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and if we visit Edinburgh again, it is the first place I would look to stay."

"Very friendly and welcoming service at Reception. Very clean hotel. The room(s) we had were clean, spacious and had what we needed - a large comfortable bed. Plenty of towels, bottled water in the room, selection of teas and coffees, kettle, iron, ironing board, ensuite - massive walk in shower. Large TV on the wall. This is my second time at this hotel and I have no complaints."

"The Holyrood Hotel by Marriott is located on Holyrood Street and is within easy walking distance of Holyrood Palace and everything on the Royal Mile, including Edinburgh Castle. There is breakfast included, which is one of the most impressive hotel spreads I have ever seen. The restaurant also offer food and drink throughout the day, including afternoon tea at £20 per person. It includes sandwiches, cakes and tea. The staff is attentive. The rooms are clean. The bed is super comfy. There is a kettle and coffee and tea in the room and complimentary water."
