Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket

"We really loved staying here, really great sleep and beautiful clean room. We were lucky enough to have a view of the castle which was a bonus. The hotel is really close to Haymarket train station and only about 20 min walk to Grassmarket. We had a very enjoyable and memorable break."

"We realised when we checked in that this used to be a Premier Inn where we stayed about 20 years ago! However, the room (327) was much smaller than any Premier Inn I have been to and smaller than the two other Leonardo hotels I have stayed in ! Whilst some of the room had clearly been nicely refurbished, both doors hadn’t been re-painted and the bathroom one fitted badly. The heating was too warm and difficult to adjust and the shower pressure was very poor. It was ok for a one night stay but not a lengthy stay. The breakfast buffet was lovely, though the “hot” food was only warm so the continental option is probably safer. The restaurant area was spacious and airy. Despite the negatives, the hotel is in a great location - 20 minute walk from Waverley Station and about 10 minutes from Princes Street. There are quite a few bars and restaurants within a 2-3 minute walk too. Although we arrived too early to check in, we were able to leave our bags and go out for the day."

"On the face of it a nice hotel. Kerb appeal and a nice reception area, however the room - particularly the bathroom - was extremely tired and not worth the price point in my opinion."
