"A Truly Special Stay at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh I spent a lot of time researching where to stay in Edinburgh because my girlfriend was performing at the Fringe Festival, and we only had one night together away from the cast. I wanted it to feel special — and Hotel du Vin exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, Jennifer and Albert at the front desk welcomed us with the most genuine warmth and hospitality. They went above and beyond and are truly gems of the hotel. Alexis and Kai also made our stay memorable, taking wonderful care of us while we enjoyed tea on the terrace. The hotel itself is incredible. The history — from a house for the poor, to an asylum, to a science laboratory, and now a beautiful wine hotel — makes it such a unique and special place. In the middle of the excitement and chaos of the Fringe, Hotel du Vin feels like a peaceful hidden escape with its charming courtyard and intimate atmosphere. Our Ravenswood room was absolutely iconic — cozy, elegant, and full of thoughtful touches like robes, coffee, tea, and beautiful La O’ccitane products in the stunning bathroom. I truly couldn’t be happier with my choice. Hotel du Vin Edinburgh is a 10/10 experience, and I can’t wait to return."

"The hotel du vin, for us, failed to live up to its reputation. Our ‘delux’ room which, had both of us been only four feet tall, might have met our expectations. Unfortunately one of us is six feet three and this meant they had to move around too much of the room bent double in orderto get out of bed and makea cup of tea. The food and service were disappointing. On the first night we had the prix fixe menu. The soup au pistou was thin watery, the sauce with the chicken had minimal depth of flavour, the only redeeming part of the meal was dessert. Breakfast was just about ok. In the evening we chose the day’s special, fish and chips. The portion was child size and proved to be mostly batter, crisp on the outside soggy on the inside. The service left a lot to be desired."
