"The location is very good and central. The atmosphere was quiet. The room was fine in size, but the carpet was stained and there was a gaping large crack in the ceiling. The pillows were uncomfortable as they were extremely firm. We stayed for 2 nights and we were surprised the room wasn't cleaned after our first night. As it was raining outside we decided to eat dinner in the bar. The food and service was very good. I tried to add a tip at the end of the night, but because I was paying by card, I was told the staff wouldn't receive it so there was no point in leaving a tip. I found this very disappointing. With the food being good on the first night we again decided to eat in the hotel for dinner on the second night. This time it was served in the restaurant rather than the bar. From the moment we arrived things went from bad to worse. The waiter was constantly going back and forth to each table to either inform them the kitchen didn't have what they ordered off the menu or to clarify an order. Everyone was looking at each other in an embarrassed laughter with one telling us they wanted a drink, but were afraid of what they would receive. One couple had ordered a non alcoholic beer, but was served an alcoholic one. He noticed after a few mouthfuls - thankfully as he could have been driving. My wife asked for a bottle of Coors Light and the waiter asked what it was. When she explained, he asked if they sold it, which they did, and was similar with the other guests. The quality of food on the second night was very poor and we regretted staying there for dinner. Thankfully we didnt require a receipt as they were unable to provide one which would effect business travellers. It was like Manuel from Fawlty Towers on an off night!"
