"After a nice makeover in these last years, this hotel is now branded as a Doubletree by Hilton. Yes, you get the delicious gooey chocolate chip cookie on arrival…almost worth it just for that. The makeover has changed the place now and feels rather upmarket. The rooms are certainly big and comfy. A great walk-in shower, coffee and tea facilities are all that you’d expect. The hotel over looks a golf course (so nice views) and the place comes with a huge health club, spa and swimming pool. It’s close to Belfast and if the city is not to your liking then the other tourist sites and towns are but a car ride away. Psst. You get FREE parking here. Lastly, a word of thanks to a kindly, welcoming staff."

"Malachi was our receptionist and what a charming man. Even on approach to the desk he was welcoming. I have never experienced such warm welcome. When he heard it was my husband and Is 35th wedding anniversary he gave us lovely little boxes of chocolates and cookies. Each time I passed the desk he lifted his head and smiled. Which made me feel very comfortable. The room was lovely bed was amazing and the spa was great. Only down side was the restaurant, the food was well below what I’d of expected for the grand setting. However it was priced to reflect this. Also I had to lift 3 plates before I got a clean one at breakfast. All in all we had a great time, but as it was a special occasion I think I’d eat somewhere else."

"We had a very poor experience in this Hotel. On arrival the Receptionist was extremely rude. She did not smile or greet us or welcome us to the Hotel. There was an older lady sitting beside her and she remained silent. There was no offer to help us with luggage and no porter to be seen. We had been travelling for hours from the south of Ireland and looking forward to a nice meal. However, the only option was the Grill area. The menu was a basic Pub/ Golf Club style menu with very little that appealed to us. In the end we just had starters and desert. The girls who served us were pleasant and friendly which was a relief after our experience at reception. At breakfast we were basically ignored and they turned off the coffee machine without telling us. We both felt there was a very cold, unfriendly atmosphere in the Hotel. We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable and we would not recommend this Hotel to anyone. We will not be returning ."
