"Stayed ast week one night stay , was excited by the hotel hype! to be staying to celebrate an anniversary, but soon became underwhelmed, The guy on the door was the most pleasant of the staff we met held our bag until later as we were early for check in . On our return later in afternoon we went to 6 th floor to check in , no Prosecco check in for us (as others have mentioned) ? No issue told our room no 504 and also confirmed the room was already fully paid for , first impression of the room is quite stunning and great view over Manchester on closer inspection a little knocked about and a terrible piece of patched wallpaper by the tv ! But these are little details,but considering they think their standards are above and beyond made us smile . We had a meal in Manchester City centre already booked so didn’t use restaurant had a couple of drinks on our return very average service nothing to get excited about and pay a service charge for !! Breakfast next morning, was ok a little taken aback by the language coming from 4 “gentleman “ having some sort of meeting on the first table as you walked in , breakfast very lack lustre nice buffet of cereals fruits and pastries, full English was 1 sausage 1 bacon eggs beans a very small portion (would give to a child l had Advocado on sourdough with poached egg’s Advocado was not fresh just the sort
You get in a supermarket tub disappointing had to ask for toast got one Slice service ok just standard.
Check in was when things started to really fall apart waited whilst 2 ladies in front of us we served the gentleman on duty was having in-depth conversation with them we were in no rush so waited patiently, he broke off his conversation and took our key card and said thank you no checking of anything no did
You have a nice stay on our return home we found not only had the hotel taken £100 deposit also taken £119 to cover our stay !!!! Which we had already paid and had been acknowledged on check in on contacting the hotel to ask we had to wait till following day to get this all sorted and eventually refunded no apologies from them whatsoever will I stay again maybe not needs a lot of work on staff service to bring it up to the standard it seems to want to advertise its self as , So the advice on this review is make sure you keep checking you bank account to be sure you are not being charged more than once as they seem to think they have it right and you have to prove them wrong
