"At first sight this looks like quite a grand hotel close to Piccadilly Gardens, but don't be fooled: this is very much a budget option. It wasn't expensive but nor was it good value. There was only one person on reception so checking in involved some queueing. The first key card we were given didn't work, and when we finally got into the room it was a little cramped. I found my bed a little on the firm side and the (single) pillow was very firm so I didn't get off to sleep easily. This brings me to the worst issue: paper thin walls and doors, with no soundproofing. For some reason the guests staying in the next room started talking loudly at 6am and continued jabbering away throughout the early morning, making it impossible for a light sleeper like myself to get any more rest. So you might find this hotel ok for one night if you're lucky, but no more. No issues with the bathroom, shower was good. Didn't try the breakfast, we went elsewhere."

"When you see the ‘Alice in Wonderland-esque’ room doors you know something is off. They are the narrowest doors in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the bathroom door is the same. This narrowness continues in the room. The whole stay, I just couldn’t get used to it. The yellow walls and the grass and daisy carpet are nauseating and the astro-turf stool is awful. The room ‘view’ was of a rotten inner shaft, there was a nappy and trash outside the window. Staff came to visit the room as the bathroom was dirty on arrival but they just didn’t speak or understand English well. When told about the nappy, the housekeeping manager was looking for it inside the room. Nothing was ever cleaned away. We asked to move room but there were no options, which I didn’t believe. The lighting is also awful (cool white) which is really drab and depressing. I just didn’t like this place at all. It’s needs a refurb but the doors could never be enlarged."
