London Luton Vale Hotel

"Over the last 10 years, my wife and I have stayed here at least twice a year and we have been happy with the hotel. This February we had a very poor experience in the hotel's restaurant. Our meals were so disgusting, I refused to pay for them. My wife chose a steak, medium rare, and it arrived tough and overcooked, she returned it and the second steak was hardly any better so she couldn't eat it. She had also asked for some peppercorn sauce, which arrived in a dish, looking like chutney and inedible. I ordered a chicken curry. What arrived was a bowl of under cooked chicken pieces swimming in a thin brown liquid, nothing else. There was no curry flavour and the brown liquid was disgusting. My concern now, is that I have a prepaid non returnable booking at this hotel for July, but unless they can guarantee edible food, I don't want to return. I have recently completed a requested survey on this experience and received a blasé reply that just said, " my complaint will be shared with the team" . Hardly satisfactory. I now intend to write to the head of the company that owns the hotel to get a proper response and some kind of guarantee for my future visit."

"Great hotel,close to amenities, ample paid parking,gym, microwave room and free washing tumble dryer facilities(need your own wash powder), there is an on site bar and restaurant, the breakfast and evening meals have a good range of options and also suit vegetarians, and there is also a snack bar to get 24/7 snacks and drinks from ,including a free cold water drinking machine on the 1st floor,however the £7 room service charge is way to expensive , for anyone that wants this service, i suggest that you ring from the hotel room phone to place your order and go collect it yourself if convenient to do so..The staff are extremely helpful , Marie who works breakfast shift is very nice and has looked after me during my stay ,she is amazing at her job and the evening staff are also very nice ,Katie who runs housecleaning does an amazing job and is super friendly, and the reception staff are also very friendly and on hand 24/7 to help ,all in all the staff are all very helpful and accommodating, however there is currently renovation work being done to update the hotel so need to keep this in mind as some parts of the day can be noisy due to maintenance work including the Monday fire alarm test if anyone works night shifts.i believe FEB/ MARCH/APRIL 2026 is when the bulk of this work will be done, but not 100% sure, i would certainly ask prior to booking...so request a quite room if you do not wish to be disturbed, however I would like to see do not disturb signs for doors for us shift workers that do not wish to be disturbed, some rooms have already been updated so best to request one of those ..as the others are quite tatty with bad carpets and heating/air-conditioning and hot water issues...in my opinion these rooms should not be able to be booked untill the renovation works are complete...we all pay good money so we would all expect the rooms to reflect the images shown on the website and therefore not be disappointed on arrival...the rooms that have been decorated are all spacious.. there is a lift at the hotel and ample room to accommodate anyone that requires wheelchair access...and there are also multiple conferences rooms and working space for business users. There are construction works going on close by and a busy road but it is relatively quite. I would recommend this hotel. And its certainly handy for holidays makers due to its close proximity to the airport to which the staff can arrange taxis."

"Arrived to find no heating working in the room. A small heater was provided but gives out no heat. Temporary heaters in the restaurant. Whole place is freezing. Lifts making a noise and workmen on site in reception. £10 parking charge. Blood(?) stains on the window nets. Carpet by the bathroom is heavily stained. Shower curtain is stained. Bath is burned on the bottom. Worse still.....I checked the mattress. I wish to god I hadn't. It is absolutely filthy, covered in stains. Sheets and mattress protector are stained and covered in long hair. At 10pm I've turned the mattress and re-made the bed. There's rubbish between the mattress and bed frame, highlighting that the mattress has not been checked for a long time. I can't ask for another room, there's no guarantee it will be any cleaner. Actually sitting on the bed feeling sick. I've paid for breakfast tomorrow but will be leaving as soon as I get up. I've researched and found the hotel is/was used for asylum or temporary housing. If I had known this I would never have booked. I stay in hotels regularly. This is by far the worst."
