The Welbeck Hotel London

"Just checked out after a three night stay. Didn't get off to the best start on check in, the young female receptionist was not very engaging and appeared pre occupied when checking us in. This was not a good first impression. especially after a long morning of travelling from Newcastle. Our room was not ready, stated someone would call when we could check in this phone call never happened. We arrived at 14.15 to be able to get a quick change of clothing, receptionist stated room had been cleaned but not checked? We waited another 20 mins and were given our room key reluctantly. That's the impression the staff gave us. Room 191, first floor. Room was very clean, very comfortable bed and a good sized tv. We needed to ask for more milk, tea bags and had no towels on day two. Breakfast was good. Food was fresh and made to order. I found the full English Breakfast to be swimming in grease. Eggs benedict was heavily loaded in hollandaise sauce, however my egg omelette on our final day was cooked to perfection. The Breakfast could do with a toaster and more choice of yoghurts and actimels Also the staff need to smile and be a bit more engaging, "why so serious" All in all we would return, the hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of Oxford street."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Welbeck hotel. The staff was amazing, from the check in staff, the bartenders, and the restaurant staff. I am sure I’m misspelling his name but want to specifically name Mallet, who showed us to our room and ensured we knew where everything was, how it worked. The coffee and water provided was appreciated. We had breakfast two mornings and it was great. We found the price of breakfast at the hotel was very reasonable for the amount of food and the quality. The room was very clean and pretty spacious, with a table and chairs. The location is fantastic, with tons of shopping and restaurants to walk to. Also, it’s within walking distance of the Wallace Collection. We would absolutely stay there again."

"Wonderful Hotel and as close as it is to Oxford Street it is very quiet street. All staff were excellent in particular PYEA and staff in the breakfast restaurant along with Mayou at the front desk. Would highly recommend the Wellback….."
