"The hotel was clean and comfortable with a fabulous breakfast served with a excellent range of food. The only disappointment was that the bathroom taps and shower were in need of replacement aa handles fell off and the shower was difficult to adjust."

"We recently stayed at "The Gore" for five nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel’s historic charm and character make it stand out from the usual modern chains. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained throughout our stay. It's very quiet close to the Hyde Park. A special mention goes to the staff and service at the breakfast—it was high quality and a great start to each day. The location is perfect for exploring South Kensington and Hyde Park. Highly recommended!"

"I had a great stay and felt the Gore provided an excellent experience for the money. If like me you’re attending the Royal Albert Hall, the location could hardly be more convenient. The hotel has 50 rooms spread across 2 handsome townhouses, but it feels smaller and more personal than that. Established in the Victorian period, it has character, soul, and a lingering air of historic grandeur….. all wood panelling, plush drapes and classic artworks. Being a property of age, there are areas of wear and tear, and the elevator is straight out of the ark (though I love such quirks). By and large, it is beautifully kept, and opulent in places. As a solo traveller, I opted for a standard room and was very happy with it - decor was tasteful, the beautifully carved antique bed very comfortable, and the room peaceful. Tea/coffee making is provided, as well as proper, fresh milk. If you fancy something fancier than a standard room, there are suites with glorious names, like the ‘Miss Fanny Suite’ and the ‘Lady Blessington’. Staff were friendly and efficient across departments, smartly clad in black suits. I didn’t dine in-house, other than grabbing a quick coffee, but the hotel does boast a well regarded restaurant. I loved the glitzy bar, which was once the stomping ground of icons such as the Rolling Stone. If you’re seeking facilities such as a gym and spa, the hotel probably isn't for you, but for a charming, quintessentially English stay, in a good location, at great value - the Gore is an absolute winner."
