Mercure London Paddington Hotel

"We had a good stay at the Mercure Paddington. The rooms are small and I'm glad we upgraded to Executive Twin, otherwise, it would have been very tight. With the Executive Twin, we just managed, but it's central London and next to a major station, so all within expectation. The location is excellent being next to Paddington Station, and the bus service was also very good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. However, Housekeeping team need to keep an eye on detail. We returned late in the afternoon twice, (around 5pm) and was surprised the room still had not been made up. On arrival, we found one of the complimentary water bottles/packs had been opened and half empty, possibly by the previous guest. The soap bottles were replenished but with the handwash, it was placed in a way that soap couldn't be pumped out. Tea and coffee was replenished but after the first day, the housekeeper would only give decaf coffee."

"Location almost too close to Paddington - surrounds were busy and dirty - compared to a few blocks away. We had a “standard” room - it was so small that there was barely floor space once you brought cases in. Bar fridge is very tiny. Staff were lovely and efficient but just cannot recommend this hotel due to the tiny rooms."

"We stayed 4 nights at the Mercure London Paddington Hotel. The location was amazing, right next to Paddington station and very convenient for traveling via subway. There is stores and restaurants near which we enjoyed. We loved the steakhouse across the street. The room was tiny but overall not bad at all. Our biggest issue and likely why we wouldn't stay again is because every time we went back to our room the keys didn't work. We had to go to lobby each time to reset them which was very annoying especially by day 4. It also would have been nice to have more outlets in the room."
