Marriott Hotel London Grosvenor Square

"Checked in for 3 nights and was not impressed by this Marriott. The location close to Oxford station is great for coming directly from LHR. A service charge was added to the bill. So I asked and was told it is distributed among staff- gratuity. It is discretionary, but we were not told about this at booking time. The tv was not working. It was fixed, but many channels show a black screen. The doors slam shut, not on purpose, but this has been a constant noise throughout our stay. At 3:30 am it woke me up, and again at 5 am. This hotel has had problems maintaining elevators and we are using the private staff ones during our stay. Restaurant require you to go upstairs and are inconvenient for mobility challenged guests. My first impression when walking into our room was IKEA, cheap, budget decor and rigged mini fridge/ bar set up. Really? For the money we paid, shouldn’t there be atleast one or two amenities in the bathroom. There was the large soap, lotion, shower dispensers and 2 glass bottles of water. No Bonvoy welcome, nothing. I made a big mistake choosing this 24 sq m. Room. Lobby is attractive. Breakfast was good."

"We stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor Square for four nights in August and overall had a very good experience. The location is hard to beat. It’s incredibly walkable with plenty of transport options nearby, making it a great base for exploring central London. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we encountered from the front desk to the teams at the Gordon Ramsay restaurants was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Special thanks to Samuel, Ashley, and Nikita in The Luggage Room bar; their service and expertise were exceptional and made our evenings there a highlight of the trip. That said, the hotel itself feels a bit dated in spots and didn’t quite match the premium price point. It’s not the most luxurious Marriott in the city ...more “comfortable and classic” than “posh and polished.” Still, with its unbeatable location, excellent staff, and a solid foundation of service, this property delivers a very pleasant stay. Just don’t expect five-star finishes to go with the five-star rates."

"Lovely warm welcome from the team. Only reason for not awarding 5 stars was no mention of any upgrade for Titanium membership. Just a few nights away from Ambassador and whilst it is perfectly acceptable for there to be no upgrade available, it isn’t not to recognise and apologise that it isn’t possible on this occasion."
