Kaya Great Northern Hotel

"We were thrilled with this hotel which was ideally located for our Eurostar trip the following morning. Beautifully decorated. Over-sized room for UK standards. Safe in room. Good natural light. Small queen bed. Complimentary pantry with tea and coffee at each floor. Very quiet and air-conditioning that works. Highly recommended."

"I was disappointed in our stay at the Great Norhern this time around. Although the Rails restaurant is excellent, the room we were in (larger sized King room 225) was still quite small and the AirCon just couldn’t keep up with the heat so our room was hot and stuffy. Just no air volume coming out of the vent. As climate change continues to make places like Europe hotter, hotels and AirBnB’s have got to keep up if they want to remain competitive. We also found our bathroom to be unpractical. It was separated from the bedroom by a frosted double glass door, so not a lot of privacy and not able to turn on the light to use bathroom in the middle of the night without waking your partner. Also, no shower just a tub so if you have mobility issues, hard to navigate. Finally, the hotel tried to charge me twice for the room. If I hadn’t just happened to check my credit card app, this would have happened. I had purchased an early bird special rate and pre-paid for the hotel months earlier - and £475 for a room of this size I felt was too pricey. The location however cannot be beat if you have a morning train out of either Kings Cross or St. Pancras. If I have a similar itinerary in the future I’ll look for other accommodation but nothing will be this close to the trains unfortunately."

"Great hotel experience. Located at Kings Cross Station this is an elegant amd slylish hotel. Delightful staff on all areas. Rooms are very well apppointed. Great nights sleep. Bar and terrace are fab !"
