Our recent stay at the InterContinental London Park Lane firmly belongs in the latter category. From the moment we arrived until the moment we reluctantly left, every single member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, professional and, above all, genuinely kind. Nothing ever felt rehearsed or transactional – everyone we met seemed to take real pride in ensuring guests had the best possible experience. A special mention must go to General Manager Sholto, whose warmth, compassion and generosity before and during our stay were simply exceptional. His thoughtfulness, together with the beautiful room, the lovely amenities, valet parking, and the flexibility of an early check-in and late check-out, transformed what was already a special weekend into one we will never forget. What impressed us most, however, was the culture throughout the hotel. Every member of the team smiled, greeted us warmly and went above and beyond whenever we needed anything. That doesn’t happen by accident—it speaks volumes about the leadership and the people who work there. My wife and I have stayed in many excellent hotels over the years, but this was one of those rare occasions where the hospitality itself became the highlight of the trip. It wasn’t simply luxurious; it felt personal. This was, without question, one of the finest hotel stays we’ve enjoyed in a very long time, and exactly the tonic we both needed.
