Holiday Inn Express London-Royal Docks Docklands

"Only positive is pleasant staff on reception. Bathroom not vey clean, visible dirt on light switches, bed linen needs replacing. Carpet stained. Asked for a quiet room, got allocated a room at the front of this hotel and may as well have slept outside as constant traffic all night long. Train track across road and on flight path for London City airport. No soundproofing at all. Walls thin so could hear family in room next door. Breakfast basic. Coffee from machine was ok. Fruit was frozen, no preserves. Grim…."

"Hotel wasn’t bad however the guest bed had not been changed since the last occupants. It was busy at breakfast but that’s to be expected as it’s a buffet service which is great! Overall not a terrible experience at all."

"DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN YOUR ROOM! I stayed at the hotel on September 20th for 1 night with 2 other guests. In the morning of the 21st when we went down for breakfast for an hour, we noticed that 2 purses were stolen from our rooms. The rooms were locked so it baffles me how someone got in. Reported it to the front desk, which took them over half an hour to try and call the police after telling them we have had notifications from our bank that whoever has taken our cards have tried to spend the money. They didn’t seem in a rush so sympathetic atall. After an hour, I had to report it to the police myself. All of our bank cards and ID’s were stolen. Also found out another guests items were stolen from their room on the same floor. I have emailed the hotel multiple times to get compensation in regards to needing to buy a driving licence again as they have not responded. There was no direct camera to our room (only by the lift and our room, as well as the other guests) and our room was on the other end of the corridor. How can someone get into our room, someone with a room key which staff members only have ( and rooms without close proximity to cctv have been targeted.) Would not recommend staying here as I did not feel safe in this hotel after the situation or taken seriously as no action has been taken!!"
