Holiday Inn Express London Hammersmith

"Overall good experience. The hotel is very well located in Hammersmith to go exploring with the river Thames only 5 minutes walk away. There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the area and the tube station is only 5 minutes walk. This time we stayed in room 210 which was on the opposite side of the building compared to our last visit and we did find it rather noisy as there is an alleyway to the high steet shops and there was alot a bins being moved and filled quite late at night and due to the room being hot we had to have the window open which made it worse, i would not let this stop me booking again as i would just request the hotel entrance side of the building. The room itself was clean and comfortable with tea and coffe making facilities and an iron. The bathroom was a little dated with cracked floor tiles and missing grout and could do with a refurbishment but i am led to believe some rooms have been done so i would request one of the newly refurbed rooms on our next visit. The hotel can be a little noisy on the weekends as people coming in from pubs dont know how to be quite but not the hotels fault but something to bear in mind if you want an early night. The bar in the hotel is operated by the friendly reception staff who happily come to the bar when required and the bar has a good range of drinks to suit all and there is also vending machines in reception if you require drinks or snacks as the hotel does not serve food in the evening but i brought some hot food back and the staff happily let me consume this in the bar area and use the plates from the breakfast station which was much appreciated. The breakfast is very good here and has everything you need to start your day with cereal, cakes, toast, hot food and juices, coffee. The hot food choice was of good all round quality and hot which was a bonus and the restuarant staff were very helpful, friendly and worked tirelessly to keep evertything topped up and clean, special mention to Eric, what a lovely friendly, happy gentleman and always smiling. There is a carpark at the hotel but this is run by a third party and priced at £45 per 24 hours. There is other cheaper car parking available if you dont mind the walk to the hotel but i prefer the one on site and your car is safe here. Good hotel within easy of central London with good facilities and clean so will definatly use again on our next visit to London,"

"This was my 6th trip to London in the last 8 years. We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express properties, and prefer hotels outside of Central London. This hotel is ideal for a number of reasons. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the Hammersmith Tube Station which includes the District, Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines. The bus depot is also in the same building. The hotel is less than a 15 minute walk to the Thames pub crawl. Even though the hotel is on a fairly major street, the area gets quiet at night. There are lots of local retail shops, places to eat, and pubs within 5-10 minute walk too. The hotel has a large breakfast area with a nice selection of food and beverages. The room was clean, although the bathroom is a little on the small side. Because the hotel is about a 20-25 minute tube ride from Central London, the rates were lower than most places we checked. We had a great time and will be staying here again next year."

"Booked for one night Jan 13-14 . Fire alarm ruined our stay. No explanation or apologies given . We felt ignored and we left the hotel and went somewhere else. Not a good service"
