Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo

"The hotel is at a good location within about a 5-minute walk to Waterloo Station. We were given a handicapped room without requesting one. It had a lot of space, but we encountered issues because of it. The shower was messy. Each time we used it, water sprayed into the majority of the bathroom making it slippery. Only a plastic curtain surrounded the shower and it did not contain the water. Also the temperature of the shower water fluctuated from hot to lukewarm every time I used it. This was annoying! Lastly the air conditioning in the room stopped working the third day during our stay. We arrived from sightseeing before going out to dinner and noticed the room was musty and not cool as when we left. We tried resetting the thermometer several times including removing the hotel key from the power slot, but nothing worked. On the way to dinner we let the staff at the front desk know about the issue. They told us there was no maintenance personnel working in the evening and they would try to reset the conditioner from the front desk. After returning late from dinner we realized the reset didn’t work. It was not a comfortable last night’s stay due to this. The staff was friendly, the room clean (except for the wet bathroom floor), the breakfast in the morning was OK. If it wasn’t for the shower and air conditioner issues I could have given this hotel a 4-star rating."

"We chose a city view room which very comfortable and very quiet, being on the back of the hotel. The location is excellent. An easy walk to the South Bank, Westminster, Buckingham Palace etc. Also very convenient for buses and underground. Breakfast was fine...we didn't have any trouble getting a table and didn't feel rushed. Good selection but could have been hotter. Would definitely stay here again"

"Looked really nice when booking however there was a very unpleasant smell coming from the drains in the bathroom and the windows didn't fit properly and even from the 7th floor you could hear noise from the streets all through the night. The breakfast was mediocre, luke warm at best. The staff were lovely though and the rooms clean except the sink and tap - see photo, was like this when I first went into the bathroom."
