"Rubbish outside front of hotel, poor fitting glass tops to bedside units and a filthy window with bird droppings and stains on window. Tried to upgrade but said was largest room . Not a nice hotel"

"There was an issue with our booking. (Booked with booking.com). The hotel claimed they did not have it even though booking.com confirmed the hotel had the reservation and there was no issue. The person (male team member) on the desk needs re-training as he had no customer service skills whatsoever, rude and did not care. He gave the impression he had no idea what he was doing as he went back and forth from the the office asking someone else in the office for log in details. We were told the supervisor was on his way to 'sort it out', this was a hour and a half and still left waiting so we just left and booked another hotel down the road. We are pursuing a refund through booking.com. But the lack of customer service was appalling as it was 11:30pm at night when we gave up and left. Disgraceful."

"Idea location short walk to the tube/bus etc. The hotel communal areas are beautiful with original stairways, original ‘theatre’ bar and lots of engravings, the frontage is stunning and welcoming. Our room, however, was tiny, cramped and hot, the air con didn’t work. The shower sprayed everywhere as shower screen too small. It was, however value for money and ok for one night. Whole place was very clean. Being in a side street hotel was reasonably quiet although our room had a very noisy extractor which we could not turn off. Staff were very attentive and polite especially the breakfast crew. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, very tasty, hot food was hot and there was plenty of it."
