Clayton Crown Hotel London

"Cleanish, staff helpful ( when there), One lift out of order ( according to one staff member the other out if order for a about a year). The working lift broke down and then to use the stairs to get up and down it had really bad to non existent signage. Room had no ventilation,and the air conditioning was hit and miss. There is a pool but no information was given or offered by the reception. The breakfast was of usual English/ Continental standard,but eat early. Or you will have a long wait 😟. Breakfast coffee machine was not working for 3 days 😡. The adjoining "Crown Grill" pub was not busy ,but noisy with music. The food offered was......... The staff friendly but some very inexperienced. The dining room between the hotel and the pub was cold and had absolutely no atmosphere."

"I had a lovely experience. Andrei is phenomenal. He absolutely made my wedding. His attentiveness and knowledge was fantastic, which made our day go so well. Everyone worries about how wedding food will taste, but every guest gave me rave reviews. They adored the chicken, it was full of flavour and juicy and they loved the dauphinoise potatoes, applause for our Chef and assistants!! If you hire a DJ with The Clayton, make sure to ask for Jason, he is so good and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend having your wedding at The Clayton. We chose the historic Sala room, it only takes about 100 guest, but it met our needs and just fitted so well with our vision. They do have a bigger event space. There are only 2 issues I had when at Clayton. They were not part of my event, but part of my stay in the Junior Suite. Firstly, the water did not get hot in shower or bath, despite me telling reception. Secondly, I had late check out, the housekeeper came into our room, without knocking, before checkout. I also recommend that the hotel gets some garment steamers for would-be brides. It is a must for the wedding dress process. When it comes out of the box, it needs steaming. I had my own, but it broke. The hotel, unfortunately did not have one for me to borrow. Leaving on a positive not... All the staff were so polite, positive, welcoming and supportive."

"I rarely leave negative reviews, but I honestly don’t understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars — it really shouldn’t be. The place feels very outdated and in need of some attention. The room itself was disappointing: the wardrobe doors didn’t close properly, the hand soap dispenser had come off the wall, and there was no shampoo or shower gel provided in the bathroom. Cleanliness wasn’t up to standard either, and there were only two pillows on the bed, which made it quite uncomfortable. The TV didn’t have WiFi or any streaming options, so you could only watch basic channels — which feels very outdated for a “4-star” stay. To make things worse, there was some kind of disturbance outside my door between 2am and 3:30am, which woke me up and made it hard to get back to sleep. The only positive was the food — it was decent and probably the best part of the stay and wasn’t expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, though, I expected much more for a 4-star hotel"
