Bower House

"What a fantastic and lovely hidden gem in London! We were in town for a few days prior to doing a cruise out of Southampton. We arrived at Victoria Coach Station from Heathrow airport via National Express, and it was a short and suitcase-friendly walk to the Georgian House to check in. The staff at check in was friendly and welcoming, and soon we made the short walk over to Bower House. Our room on the second floor in front was clean and comfortable during our entire stay. The location is excellent, as we were able to walk to our dinner spots (excellent hotel recommended fish and chips at Seafresh), a nearby full-service Sainsbury's supermarket, a short walk for Catholic Mass at Holy Apostles, and just a ten minute walk to the Apollo Victoria Theater where we enjoyed a performance of Wicked. The neighborhood is quiet at night allowing for restful sleep. At checkout, our National Express coach to the Southampton cruise port was just a short walk back to Victoria Coach Station. The only very minor item to be aware of is that due to the small size of the residence, you will hear your fellow guests come and go, but it was not much of an issue for us. When we return to visit London again, we will certainly stay at Bower House!"

"A bit of an odd 4 star review. Rooms are decent size, bed was comfy and the location is decent (v central and near transport links) I had a real issue with the room (that I won't go into here) BUT the staff were excellent, very professional and dealt with it really quickly. It changes a problem into a decent experience. Gives me the confidence to take the chance and stay here again."

"Great neighborhood, quiet area and (even though my room was right off of the front door) I was not awaken by any visitors entering or exiting the establishment. 10 minute walk from Victoria Station and one block from a bus station where tours I used had their "meeting place". Theater where HAMILTON is at, is a 15 minute walk. When I arrived (before check-in) they stored my luggage and moved it to my room when the room was ready! That was awesome. When I checked out, they took my luggage for the day while I was on a tour. Again, awesome. Lastly, when you want them to clean the room or change the towels, just ask. I only needed them to do it once during my 5 day stay, but they would do it every day if I had asked. My room was the single Pimlico Cosy Room. Bed was comfortable, tea/coffee, TV all provided. There is a bathtub with unlimited hot water and a shower attachment. Not taking a full shower for 5 days was no problem, but taking a full bath for 3 days was soothing after all the walking I did. I am sure the other rooms are similar, especially with more than one person."
