"This hotel is located on a pleasant and quiet street, just one block from King’s Cross/St Pancras, with excellent transport connections to the rest of London and beyond.
We arrived very late at night and were initially given a room that unfortunately did not fully meet some special requirements related to my husband’s Parkinson’s condition. In fairness, I had not requested these in advance. I asked whether it might be possible to change rooms, but the hotel was completely full and, at that hour, there was realistically very little anyone could do. We were also travelling with our daughter, who had just completed a 22-hour flight, so we stayed in the room for the night.
The following morning, during breakfast, the manager approached us and explained that he was aware of our situation and understood the challenges we were facing. Rather than simply applying rigid rules or additional charges — something we have unfortunately experienced elsewhere when delays occur because of my husband’s condition — he made an exception for us and arranged a much more suitable room overlooking a lovely traditional English garden square.
I would especially like to highlight the kindness, compassion and customer care shown by the manager and staff throughout our stay, and the genuine effort they made to ensure our comfort. It genuinely made a difficult situation much easier for our family.
The hotel is very well-located, recently refurbished, and everything feels exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was also surprisingly varied for a hotel of this type.
For the price, it offers very good value for money.
The most important aspect, however, was the genuine empathy and willingness to help."
