Traditional hotel next to Sefton Park

Set within a renovated Victorian mansion in a leafy suburb, this hotel is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay if you’d prefer to be a little further away from the bustle of Liverpool city centre while still being within easy reach of the major attractions.

Over the road is Sefton Park, a gorgeous 200-acre green oasis just to the south of the city, while the slightly smaller but no less attractive Princes Park is just around the corner – so if having plenty of wide open green space for leisurely strolls is high up on your agenda, this is an ideal spot. Amble five minutes down the road to Lark Lane, meanwhile, and you’ll find a plethora of independent pubs, cafes, bars and restaurants to suit every taste.

If you’re a fast walker, you could make your way to the city centre in around half an hour; alternatively, hop on the bus and you’ll be there in 20 minutes or so. It’s a fairly compact city, so once you’re in the centre, almost all the top landmarks are easily accessible on foot.

For breakfast, a full English is served in the conservatory dining room along with plenty of lighter options. You may well be tempted by a night out in the town later on, but if not, there are several cosy, comfortable lounge areas in the hotel where you can unwind in the evenings over a quiet drink or two.
