Liverpool swagger with a rooftop twist
Liverpool has never been short on personality, and neither is The Halyard. Sitting in the Ropewalks district on Duke Street, this design-led hotel takes inspiration from the city’s maritime and mercantile past, while Albert Dock, Liverpool ONE and the city centre are all within easy reach.
Even workouts get a Liverpool upgrade. The fitness suite comes with Peloton bikes and a rooftop terrace overlooking the city and harbour, so you can squeeze in some cardio with considerably better scenery than the average gym wall. The 133 rooms keep things contemporary, with Chromecast and Sky entertainment, while flexible connecting options work particularly well for groups and families.
Voyagers Restaurant & Bar carries the globetrotting theme onto the plate, combining British ingredients with international influences and open-flame cooking. Cocktails take their cues from Liverpool’s trading history, too.
There are thoughtful local touches throughout, including the hotel’s signature Mexican hot chocolate ritual, a nod to Liverpool’s history as a chocolate-importing port. City break with a story attached? Much more interesting.
