Holiday Inn Express Birmingham NEC

"I am sorry to say it has let down holiday Inn and IHG group reputation, very poor breakfast service this morning. Food was not available, and all racks were empty at 9:00 am. The arrangement was extremely poor. I am highly disappointed and have never experienced anything like this, despite being a Platinum member since 2004. The staff were not cooperative, and even the kitchen manager could not assist. Please see attached pictures, even last night parking was not having any place to park a car."

"Despite other negative reviews, we have never had a bad stay in this hotel. The staff from reception to the restaurant and housekeeping have always been very good. Our room on this occasion was clean and comfortable, I think it had not long been renovated. Breakfast was a bit chaotic but that goes for most hotels that operate a buffet system. I would suggest that people wanting more should pay double and go to the Hilton or Crowne Plaza. As for the fire alarm on Saturday morning, this was I believe set off by a guest, and the young ladies in question in my opinion did a brilliant job of getting every body out safely. I made a point of telling their manager this. We will definitely book again."

"Stayed for 6 nights Firstly may I say all contact with staff I had was very good . But! Room typical HIE but tired tiles crack in bathroom, paint chipped in many places in both bedroom and bathroom Carpets stained, sink plug chrome coming off , grout in bathroom either dirty or miss Just generally tired Cleaning off room was very poor When arrived shower tray not been cleaned , had to ask twice for it to be cleaned, cup , glass marks on bedside table, same on windowsill and work station. Tool food to room one day and when returned following day tray still where I left it, twice the tea/coffee not topped up had to got to food area to get tea bags etc One night/early morning Fire Alarm went off ( not blaming hotel with this but) No organisation when being evacuated, young girls tried to use load hailer but it didn't work !!! Breakfast is ok but why did chef only cook one side ( one side cooked one side not)"
