Travelodge Bath Waterside

"Well what can I say. I didn't expect much from a Travelodge but I did expect to have some hotel basics.... The aircon was a small desk fan, no hairdryer, no wardrobe, a bed that can only be described has a wonky blancmange, a balcony you couldn't get on 'for my safety' which only opened a couple of inches which also doubled as the only the ventilation for the room, the balcony we couldn't use had 4ft high weeds on it, no extractor fan in the bathroom, cobwebs behind the curtains & a badly stained carpet. Staff wise there were some ok staff but some of them made it perfectly clear they didn't want to be there & we were being annoying by existing. The only positive thing about it was the location. Right on the river walk at just few minutes to get to the town centre. It's a shame it could be really nice with some investment & modernisation."

"We have stayed here many times over many years and it has always been a pleasant stay. However on this occasion, it was totally wasted due to one member of the team who was working in the bar, a coloured chap. He just did not want to be there, had no customer interaction, did not utter one word and was on his phone a lot watching something, which I could hear from my table near the bar. I expect FAR better service after paying £162 for one night. We had a early check in and arrived at approx 12.30pm on Saturday 8th August 2026 and there was not one free parking space. How is this possible ? Has everyone booked late check out and a early check in....I think not. I saw loads of people parking and then walking out to town (whilst I was sitting in my car, waiting for a free space). The car park needs to be managed properly for genuine guests. Just a shame that due to one team member takes a usual 5 star rating down to a 1 star rating. Hopefully our next stay, the bar tender will be the nice chap with the bald head and beard. I cannot remember, if anyone was wearing name badges (sorry)."

"We stayed at Travelodge Bath Waterside for one night as a family of three (husband, wife and our 8-year-old son), and we had a really enjoyable stay. On arrival, we had no trouble finding a parking space. At £10.50 for 24 hours in Bath city centre, we thought the parking was very reasonably priced. We received a warm welcome from Jamie on reception, who was friendly and efficient, making check-in quick and easy. Our room (411) was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We were especially pleased to find that two fans had already been provided, which kept the room cool and pleasant despite the unprecedented heatwave. It's unfair to blame any hotel for temperatures like we've been experiencing, and Travelodge had clearly done what they could to make guests comfortable. We all slept brilliantly thanks to the comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast the following morning was exactly what you'd expect from a buffet breakfast, with a good selection of food. Maisie, the waitress, was fantastic. She happily replenished anything that was running low when guests asked and was especially lovely with our 8-year-old son, which we really appreciated. My only minor suggestion for improvement would be to add more power sockets in the rooms. There were only two double sockets, and with two of those being used for the fans, there wasn't much left for charging devices. The only other tiny issue was when our son decided to hide under the bed and emerged with an empty toothpaste tube that had obviously been missed during cleaning. However, when we looked underneath, the area had clearly been vacuumed and was otherwise spotless, so we completely understand that the occasional oversight can happen. Overall, this was excellent value for money. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff were outstanding, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. We'd happily stay here again."
