The Queensberry Hotel

"The Queensberry is a very old hotel with many different staircases leading up to the rooms and down to the bar and restaurant. The rooms are not air conditioned, which generally is not a problem unless England is having a heatwave. An old fashioned key is still used in the doors. A fabulous Michelin star restaurant is located on the lower level. The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable."

"Stayed on a Monday night during the hot weather. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The valet parking was great, and the staff were lovely. Tea, coffee and iced water were most welcome in the lounge. Our room was great, the bathroom was down a set of stairs, which could be an issue for some. The weather was very hot, and the tower fan helped, but it was still warm, despite having the bathroom window open to ceate a breeze. Outside the bedroom window was noisy, possibly some sort of extractor fan which ran constantly, so e had to keep that closed. Breakfast was tasty, but felt a bit limited in the options available, without additional costs. We had the full cooked breakfast, which was good. It was a choice of that or two items on the continental menu. It would be nice to have options such as fresh fruit and yoghurt without an additional charge if you opt for the cooked breakfast. Over all a good stay, and we hope to visit again."

"We have stayed at the Queensberry many times. We like its quiet, central location, stylish, comfortable rooms and welcoming, helpful staff. The new owners seem to be running it just as well as their predecessors. We will return!"
