"Good location, lovely communal areas. Good size room. Cannot open windows properly so room was too warm which impacted on our sleep. TV didn’t work and couldn’t be fixed. They do not supply body lotion or conditioner so bring your own. If you like a bath, bring your own soap as the gel is attached to the wall which means you have to stand up to use it. This is a possible health and safety issue for less able guests."

"It simply wasn’t worth the money and we will not stay again next year. Heated pool was cold and I did raise with reception but they felt 20 degrees was warm enough, it wasn’t. Garden Terrace in sun was blocked off with mo explanation. Breakfast could have been better - every day service got our orders wrong plus when things run out on several days, I received a shrug and told brusquely nothing more available. Got fed up with all the additional bar charges - even when i’d gone to the bar so no service! Room was ok but no side table or fridge and couldn’t sleep for 2 evenings due to noise from staff washing their clothes for around 6 hours at back of hotel-I did raise but wasn’t sorted quickly. Bathroom was on a slant and door kept sticking. Another issue was cleanliness - windows were very black and dusty which were only partially cleaned when I brought up. Cleaner never properly cleaned bathroom over the 6 days we stayed. Shower door was fixed so was near impossible to turn on/off bath taps/shower I don’t like the water in bottles in room as staff did not change frequently-bottled water safer. In summary, simply not worth the money and recommend staying somewhere cheaper"

"We have had a wonderful stay at The Somerville Hotel. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views, immaculate gardens, and plenty of comfortable sun loungers and parasols to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The bar area is lovely, and the cocktails are excellent. What really sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. Every member of the team has been warm, caring, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. This morning I found myself in a difficult situation, and the staff went above and beyond to help resolve the problem quickly and with such kindness and good humour. Their professionalism and willingness to help made a stressful situation so much easier. The service here has been exceptional from start to finish. It's clear that the team takes great pride in looking after their guests, and it has made our stay all the more memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend The Somerville Hotel and would be delighted to superb"
