Ramada Hotel and Suites by Wyndham Kusadasi

"We have just returned from a week stay at the Ramada Hotel & Suites in Turkey and it’s safe to say we were extremely disappointed. Let’s start with the positives… The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a family suite with a sea view. We did have a view of the sea, albeit from afar and it mainly overlooked a car park. The housekeeper came daily and kept the room clean. The downside to the room, the shower was awful and would go freezing cold after only about 1-2 minutes. The location is not bad and only a short 5 minute taxi into the town where there is shopping and restaurants. They also provide a free shuttle to the beach, however we did not do this. Negatives.. Firstly, the food was not good at all. The variety was terrible and we ended up basically having chips and rice most nights. The food was also very repetitive. Lunch is by far the worst with hardly anything to choose from. We did have maybe 2 dinners that were nice, but overall really disappointed with the food selection. They did have a snack bar by the pool that served pizza, burgers and chicken which was reasonable, but it was the same every day. They also only have ice cream served between 2-4 at the snack bar which is not by the kids pool. They do not have ice cream in the buffet at all. The dinner also does not open until 7pm which is quite late to eat in our opinion as we have a 2 & 4 year old who are used to eating much earlier. The pools are freezing cold and the kids area/slides are on the front of the hotel which is a bit of a pain especially with young children. The kids slides and splash pad are good and I can imagine would be a hit during the summer months. The sun beds are basic, some of them dirty and the pool flooring is not always clean. There is a lounge bar which is off the main pool which is always packed at night so you can never get a seat. The kids disco is questionable and starts at 8:45pm (very late for a kids disco!) and feels like they just try to find a space to have a few kids around. There is not a stage inside where shows are put on. Not much going on at night time and feels like you are just sat in a social club. We visited in October and whilst not the hotel’s fault, it rained most of the time. However, the health and safety around the hotel when it rains is poor. The floors become extremely slippery and there is a steep ramp to get to our hotel room which does not have any handrails and is lethal when wet. I slipped over walking to breakfast one morning and was told by a nice man who helped me up, that his wife had slipped on the ramp and broken her coccyx! My husband reported it to reception where they seemed to be aware of the dangers but not really bothered about doing anything about it. Overall, we did not have a nice experience and would definitely not return to this hotel. Jet2 had it advertised as a family favourite and 4 star, and trip advisor shows 4.7 stars which is totally misleading. The hotel is a 2 star maybe 3 at a push and is in need of a refresh!"
