"My husband and I recently stayed at the Ramada Hotel & Suites and were genuinely impressed with our experience. There were a few small things that could be improved, but overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return.
Check-in
Check-in was extremely smooth and efficient. We were given a sheet containing all the information we needed, including meal times, hotel amenities and other useful details. This made the process quick and saved us from having to stand at reception while everything was explained.
All of the reception staff we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful. We were initially only given one room key, but when we asked for another, they were more than happy to provide one without any fuss.
The Room
We stayed in a land-view room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. There was plenty of storage, around seven coat hangers in the wardrobe and, importantly, a free-to-use safe. I really appreciate this, as I personally don’t think guests should have to pay extra to use a safe in a four-star hotel.
The bed consisted of two single beds pushed together, which is fairly standard in hotels, and they were very comfortable. My only recommendation would be to provide an individual sheet for each bed rather than one sheet stretched across both.
We had one pillow each, plus one spare in the wardrobe. It might be nice to have an additional pillow per guest, although I’m sure the staff would have been more than happy to provide extra pillows if requested.
The balcony was spacious, and there were plenty of plug sockets and lots of lighting throughout the room. The bathroom also had a good amount of storage, which was really useful. The shower was a large cubicle with both a rainfall-style shower and a handheld shower.
My only criticism of the bathroom was that the rainfall showerhead could have done with a deeper clean, as there was quite a bit of mildew present. This may, of course, have just been specific to our room.
The room also had a mini fridge, which was stocked with soft drinks when we arrived, but these were not replenished during the rest of our stay. It’s worth knowing this if you’re expecting the drinks to be topped up throughout your holiday.
There were also tea and coffee-making facilities. Housekeeping were fantastic and, whenever the room was cleaned, they replaced the water and topped up the tea, coffee and sugar whenever needed.
I also really liked the hotel’s quirky approach to the “Do Not Disturb” and “Make Up Room” signs. Rather than having to hang cards on the door, you simply press a button inside the room. A small detail, but a very convenient one.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that the rooms aren’t particularly soundproof. We could hear guests coming in and out of their rooms, although it didn’t affect our sleep. It may be something to consider if you’re a particularly light sleeper.
Pools, Sunbeds & Entertainment
The pools are on the colder side, but we actually appreciated this because the weather was absolutely scorching during our stay!
One thing we particularly appreciated was that there were no sunbed wars during our stay. We never had any problems getting a sunbed, so there was no need for the usual holiday ritual of getting up at the crack of dawn to put towels down!
Pool towels were also readily available every day, so you could get fresh pool towels whenever you wanted them.
There were a few guests complaining about the noise around the main pool, particularly because this is where the animation team are based. However, there are quieter areas around the hotel if you’re looking for somewhere more peaceful.
The animation team work incredibly hard and deserve a huge amount of praise. A special shout-out to Mario, who always had a smile on his face and consistently went the extra mile for guests. He is an absolute credit to the hotel!
There are the usual pool activities during the day, including pool games, darts, Zumba and more. If activities aren’t your thing, you can simply say no thank you and you won’t be hassled.
There are also representatives around the pool offering things such as boat trips and visits to the Chinese restaurant. Again, if you’re not interested, a polite “no thank you” is enough and they’ll leave you alone.
Food & Drinks
The food here is something else — absolutely stunning!
Breakfast had pretty much everything you could possibly want, with the exception of bacon. However, it’s worth remembering that Türkiye is a Muslim country, so bacon isn’t something you’re generally going to find in a hotel like this. If you’re really missing it, there are plenty of cafés and restaurants in Kuşadası that serve it.
There was a fantastic choice at breakfast, including eggs, a huge selection of cheeses, fresh bread, fruit and plenty more. Everything was fresh and there was more than enough choice to suit different tastes.
The only thing we felt was missing at breakfast was a better selection of drinks. Tea and filter coffee were available, but there weren’t options such as lattes or iced coffees. Milk isn’t provided alongside the tea and coffee, but you can get it from the cereal section.
It would have been nice to have the option of lattes, cappuccinos or similar coffees at breakfast, particularly as these were available elsewhere in the hotel. The cups are also very small, although this is fairly standard in hotels of this type.
We didn’t use the main restaurant for lunch during our stay, as we usually opted for the snack bar instead. This had a great selection, including burgers, chicken nuggets, kebabs, rice, chips and freshly made pizzas. It was perfect for a more casual lunch by the pool.
In the evening, the main restaurant had lots of choice and, again, the quality of the food was excellent.
One tip: make sure you venture outside for both breakfast and dinner! There are freshly prepared items available outside that you could easily miss if you just stay inside the restaurant. In the evening, for example, they had freshly grilled meat and fish — absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying.
The desserts deserve a special mention too. They were absolutely delicious, with lots of choice, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. There was everything from éclairs and chocolate cake to baklava, so there was always something tempting to finish your meal with.
Between 14:00 and 17:00, there is also an ice cream and waffle station where you can choose exactly what you’d like. The ice cream was delicious, with flavours including banana, pistachio, chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. It’s a lovely little addition, especially when you’re relaxing around the pool in the afternoon.
The drinks selection throughout the hotel was also excellent. There was Efes lager, a great selection of spirits and plenty of other drinks, as well as iced coffee, lattes and other coffees. There was a really good variety available, and we certainly never felt short of options.
Location & Useful Tips
The hotel is around a 30-minute walk into the centre of Kuşadası, depending on your pace. You can head either left or right when leaving the hotel, so there are options for getting out and exploring the surrounding area.
If you don’t fancy the walk, you can also get a dolmuş, which is a really easy and inexpensive way to get around. Taxis are another option; we paid around 400 Turkish lira for a taxi into the centre during our stay.
One thing I’d definitely recommend is avoiding the hotel shop unless you absolutely need something. We found it to be ridiculously expensive compared with the local shops.
If you need drinks, snacks, toiletries or other bits and pieces, you’re much better off heading into the centre and using Migros or Şok, where you’ll find much more reasonable prices.
Overall
Overall, we’d definitely recommend the Ramada Hotel & Suites. The combination of the spacious rooms, good food and drinks selection, hardworking staff and relaxed pool atmosphere made for a really enjoyable stay.
There are a few minor things that could be improved — particularly the rainfall showerhead, room soundproofing, the limited coffee options at breakfast and the fact that the soft drinks in the room aren’t replenished after arrival — but none of these affected our holiday.
A special thank you to all the staff, particularly the housekeeping and animation teams, who worked incredibly hard throughout our stay. We had a brilliant holiday and would happily return."
