"This was our second trip to Mirage World our first being end of May as a couple. This time we’ve returned as a family of 8. A couple in their 50’s and kids and partners early 20’s and 1 baby 11 months. The first holiday we raved about hotel and could find no faults however returning first week of September was a completely different experience. TUI had allocated 3 standard rooms and a loft room (which is apparently the only room that is single occupancy.) On arrival they didn’t seem to have what we booked and tried to give us 3 rooms instead of four and tried telling us this was an upgrade!! However this meant someone sharing with another couple. We declined but then had to wait for a manager to sort what we had booked. We gave the kids and their partners the standard doubles as they were all in the same block (c) and we took the loft room above restaurant. The loft room was the most impractical accommodation I’ve stayed in. It was dark and depressing, had an open polished wooden staircase to the upstairs with a glass hand rail, which was so dangerous, and the roof in the bedroom was slanted so we kept banging our heads, it only had one bedside table and only room to charge one appliance in the night. The toilet was downstairs which meant turning a light on to go down so you didn’t break your neck and therefore waking someone up. After the first night we asked to change and were happy to take a standard and downgrade but none were available but they showed us another delux no balcony but no upstairs which we agreed to. They told us to come back to reception in 2/3 hours once it was cleaned. On returning when they had advised, they told us we were too long and they had given it to someone else so we had to stick it out. We don’t use the room too much so weren’t that bothered but seriously do not book one of these rooms if you pee a lot in the night or have mobility issues. In May our room in block C was cleaned very day, rubbish taken, fresh towels and new toilet rolls. However, this time nothing they never gave us fresh towels even when we left the dirty ones in clear view, I had to ask downstairs for toilet rolls and rubbish not taken. The kids in standard block C said their rooms were cleaned every day!! The food was fine I’m not sure why people moan we had a couple of fussy eaters with us but no one ever went hungry and we always got a table at the restaurant. In May we used the main pool as we like the entertainment but this time of year it was really busy so used the one by the restaurant. We would get sun beds from a pile over in the corner around 8.30/9am which was fine and the top bar is a lot quieter so no queues for drinks. Entertainment staff are good and plenty of daytime activities but the evening entertainment gets a bit tedious same old thing each night so we went out a few nights however karaoke night we loved great atmosphere. AI drinks - spirits ok and strong but cocktails very sweet, rose wine was ok. Would I return yeah definitely but May June or late September. Kids said they would too and the location is great for getting out and about. Close to beach and bars and restaurants. A trip to Turunc is a must on the taxi boat. Turkish bath on site was great 2 hrs pampering for £50, hairdressers good my son and other half had the Turkish works £15, my daughter got a tattoo £40 which is great quality and the shop is open 24/7 and the guy in there is great. This is an honest review and we had a fab holiday."
