"Myself & my wife's experience at the Ece apart icmeler.
We arrived late at night around 11pm
After emailing the manger on several occasions about our walking disabilities it is possible to request a lower floor with 2 single beds!.
Quess what?. They put us on floor to climb up stairs, and in a horrible corner out of the way room.
The bedroom can Only be described as a children's box room with the smallest of single beds, so small my wife fell out of the bed when she rolled over and banged her head on the bedside cabinet landing on the floor, she had bruised forehead the next day
We ask lovely lady by name of (shancel). Next morning if possible to move to another room with bigger beds and less claustrophobic room.
With this request a grumpy old man the (Manger/owner). Approach and said , what's the problem!. Haed of housekeeping (shancel). Explain to him what had happened to my wife falling out the small single bed.
His face like thunder, horrible man with no feelings to his paying customers, said to me ,( you asked for 2 single beds in your email).
I replied yes and also lower floor, but didn't think single beds be so small, and why put us dissabled people in our of the way corner room with horrible view of local block of flats ?. In which he walked away arrogantly.
Shancel moved us to another room.which was a double room and bigger bed and space.
The following day I was taking a shower which consisted of a rain and normal side handheld shower, the power of the shower was good pressure, which made me step back in the shower and slip and loose my Ballance, so falling in the shower and the glass shower door fell on top of me , showering me with thousands of broken glass, cutting my legs.
The Manger/owner showed up, face like thunder again looked at my cut legs, having (shancel). Lovely lady put iodine on my cuts.
He got 2 male staff to take glass away in buckets.
I told him the shower floor is not correct flooring and like ice when wet, plus no shower mats or shower handles to grip hold of .
He came back with a plastic stool put it inside the shower and told me when taking a shower next time to sit down on it plus also putting towels on outside of the shower floor.
I felt upset and embarrassed to be a disabled person, .
To add insults to injury, I was told that I may have to pay for the broken shower room door!.
This worries me a lot and put a lot of stress on myself and my wife as it was an accident through not having adequate shower room protection.
On the fourth day of asking to replace the shower door or moving again to a different room. As the floor getting wet and scared of slipping?.
The grumpy old manger/owner told me normally I would have to pay for the broken shower room door, but on this occasion it would be no charge and on the hotel.
We when the hole 14 nights in that room without have a shower room door replacement.
Apart from (Shancel) what an angel she was to us both, in which I got her a lovely bouquet of roses as a thank you for her kindness and help, looking after DISSABLED people.
The rest of the staff, memet x 2, ozman and horrible grumpy old manger/owner, all out to get your money, take smiles and frowns.
The first week also the apartments there was , drilling, banging, grinding, from 8am. Till 6pm. As putting furniture fitting in some other rooms, so no peace and quiet was to have there. We had to travel outside for peace.
We have stayed many time in icmeler, different hotels, but our experience staying at the Ece apart, is enough to make us not to return to Turkey ever again, if you have a walking disabilities or disability, this place is not for you, my good advice is stay away, plus unless you hire a mobility scooter for £15, the Ece apart is to far from the main town to walk with disability.
Turkey has changed over the many years we've travelled there, and now find apart from the higher prices, dearer than England's prices, the local people have changed to the English in a horrible attitude towards us,.
I picked up on the attitude of the manager/owner, he was cheerful and jovial to other foreign people, German, Dutch, that were staying there, but English people had no time to even say hello.
I was brought up respectable and was told to treat people the way you wish to be treated but this manager has certainly no respect and has to go to management people training skills.
Goodbye turkey I have seen the best of you I will not be returning anytime soon.
Just like to add, easyJet holidays impossible to get hold of to get any help from them."
