Luxe family friendly retreat
The Gloria Verde Resort gets top marks for location. It’s on the outskirts of Belek – just a 10-minute drive from the cosmopolitan city centre – and has a prime setting on a private sweep of sand, neighbouring two award-winning golf greens.
Great postcode aside, the pool scene is absolutely epic. There are lots of them, including an infinity pool with a spectacular view, a children’s one featuring a giant octopus, and a couple of indoor varieties in the spa. The waterpark wows the most, though – it’s packed with slides and chutes, and has an aqua bowl.
In terms of activities, there’s a long list of watersports, along with poolside offerings like yoga and Zumba. Smaller guests can expect non-stop fun, too, in the form of treasure hunts, sports and arts and crafts.
Food and drink spots are plentiful. There are three restaurants – an international buffet affair, a Thai eatery, and a beautiful French brasserie with an incredible ceiling mural. You can also get proper pub grub at Verde, and treat yourself to the likes of cakes, ice-cream and waffles at the Zodiac and Neptuno bars. The former is the setting for live music after-dark. Head here once you’ve got the show at the amphitheatre.
