"Clearly, real-world events have influenced travel patterns in late February and through March 2026. Because of this, I would recommend approaching some of the more negative reviews with a degree of caution - this is just my opinion. This may also explain the comments about guest volume versus staff numbers, as it’s difficult for any hotel to predict a sudden shift in travel demand and instantly adjust staffing levels.
Package:
As a couple, we stayed for 7 nights on an all-inclusive package with airport transfers included (10–17 March 2026).
Accommodation:
The hotel complex is huge but stunning, both inside and outside, and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the design. The rooms are spacious and clean, with daily housekeeping including towel changes and refills of complimentary shower and hair products. Robes and slippers are provided. The all-inclusive package also includes daily refills of in-room drinks (both hot and cold) along with some snacks. An iron and ironing board can be requested from reception, and there is also a steamer located in the room.
Hotel Grounds:
Don’t be put off by the pool if visiting in March. The large pool may look cold and slightly daunting with fewer people in it, but it’s actually refreshing and elegant - it isn’t as cold as it looks. There are several other pools around the grounds, including an adults-only pool at one end of the hotel and a children’s pool at the other.
There are ample sun loungers around all three pools as well as in the garden areas, which include adults-only and quiet zones. That said, the loungers do get taken early by the usual “sun-lounger hoggers” placing towels out from around 7am, so be aware of this. We generally used the garden areas as they were peaceful, relaxing, and offered easy access to both pools. Beach towels are available, and Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel, reaching both indoor and outdoor areas.
The hotel also provides access to three small beaches along the sea. The beaches have black sand and the sea is quite rocky, so bringing sea shoes is advisable if you enjoy swimming. The seafront grounds also offer access to a beautiful walking route both north and south. The southern route leads to a local village with a few restaurants and children’s play areas (around a 10-minute walk). The northern route is quieter and more peaceful, with several seating areas that provide beautiful sunset views.
Food:
As part of the all-inclusive package, we had access to all dining times: breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, the ice-cream stand, afternoon snacks, and dinner. I had read reviews suggesting that guests were treated differently depending on their package, but we did not experience this at all. On arrival, reception clearly explained what was and wasn’t included in our package.
Booking the on-site restaurants was straightforward. Although I had read complaints about this, we had no issues. Simply speak to the service desk opposite the main reception and they will assist with bookings. Please note that reservations can only be made 48 hours in advance. We dined twice at the Italian restaurant and once at the Mediterranean restaurant, and I would highly recommend both. The beach area also has a small café where you can obtain drinks and snacks.
At times there can be queues for the breakfast and evening buffet due to the volume of guests. If you prefer to avoid queues, try visiting outside peak periods. Even when it was busy, we generally waited only 2–3 minutes before being seated, so nothing excessive. The buffet offers a broad range of food and was consistently replenished. In the mornings, there can be a short 2–3 minute queue for freshly cooked eggs or omelettes.
I also recommend a few drinks on the roof top bar, the sunset views are amazing.
Staff:
The hotel staff were impeccable and always very welcoming. We were occasionally asked to provide feedback on the service and the hotel, and there was the occasional Melia brand sales pitch. However, once they understood your stance, they didn’t push it further, which was refreshing.
Red Level:
The Red Level experience looked appealing and offers some additional extras, but we never felt there was a divide between guests.
Improvements:
A few small improvements could make the experience even better:
The front-of-house staff who seat guests in the buffet restaurant could open water bottles immediately so guests are not waiting for a drink at dinner. I would also recommend allowing people just to sit where they like for breakfast rather than allocated seating, this will free up staff and speed up the process. Zonal staff dedicated to drinks and table clearing can then do the rest.
Teaspoons should be placed on breakfast tables.
Towels placed on loungers very early in the morning should be removed when the guests are clearly not using the longer and just reserving it for later use (7am club).
The internal bathroom mirror lights need to be brighter or some better lighting placed around the mirrors.
Overall:
Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just make sure you do your research beforehand and book the package that suits you. Once you arrive, take some time to familiarise yourself with the grounds - after that, it’s all about relaxation."
