"We have just arrived home from staying at this beautiful hotel for a few days in November 2025. We are seasoned travellers to Lanzarote with first trips dating back to the mid 80's and somewhere approaching 70 separate trips to Lanzarote alone.
LOCATION: Perfect. Uninterrupted sea views, lovely beach and an easy stroll into the main town of Puerto Del Carmen. It is just bus 3 stops from the airport and a couple of minutes walk from the Hotel Jameos bus stop to the hotel. So don't bother with a taxi. We paid less than 3 euros for both of us on Bus 161.
ATMOSPHERE: Superb chilled, friendly and very classy. The staff are above all professional, engaging and are never anything less than poster boys for how a hotel should be run. We have stayed in some great hotels, and some more lavishly appointed, but this hotel simply rings the bell for all round balance. We just want to return, which probably says it all, and we are picky travellers.
I really liked the way everything in the hotel is linked from the restaurant leading out to the bar and evening entertainments, brilliant gym, pool tables and other games to the cafe and bar area. The pool has ample sun beds and the staff ensure those selfish sunbed squatters are shamed with blue rocks placed on their sunbed for leaving towels on unoccupied sunbeds. Love that. Love that a lot.
The evening entertainment is excellent too. One area that could be improved could be music and dance area as the guests just seem to want to mingle. Nice. But there is a excellent attention to the privacy and peace of guests at this hotel too. So music is softened at 11pm
ROOMS: We had Room 334, which was adjacent to the atrium and we simply could not hear anything at all. So all praise and thanks to the hotel for trying to balance the peace and quiet for guests with music, dance and entertainment. The fit and finish of the rooms is perfect. I could not fault anything to be honest. The rooms are spotlessly clean, our double bed was 2 metres wide. 2 metres. Seriously comfortable latex foam too. Huge wardrobe space. Plenty of hangers. Hair dryer. Excellent digital air conditioning too. The shower features a rain head and hand shower too. The size is excellent. Hot water and plenty of power. There is a magnifying vanity mirror too, perfect for makeup and contact lens wearers.
VALUE: We stayed half board as we tend not to take advantage of unlimited drinks and lunch. Coffee was very reasonable 3.50 euros, with a full range of ice creams and snacks at extremely reasonable prices. Our average spend for two people buying drinks at dinner and the evening with ice creams was just 15 euros per day for both of us. You cannot complain at that.
SPA and MASSAGE: We flew out for 3 nights mainly to recharge and enjoy the massage and spa. Patricia is amazing and I took the time to discuss what treatment would be best for us. We were not disappointed at all. The full range of treatments are really well priced. Nothing over priced or unreasonable. Everything as you would expect. Sorry if this review is beginning to read like a paid for plug, but I can honestly say our expectations were exceeded everywhere with not one single disappointment.
FOOD: The restaurant was again excellent. The food was neither remarkable, but what they had elected to include on the menu was really well done. Fresh and well chosen range of vegetables, main courses and deserts. ONE AREA THAT COULD BE IMPROVED IS: Gluten Free choice was very poor. There is a toaster, bread and cornflakes. That's it. I have seen better just about everywhere. It would be nice to see a little more variation in the deserts which do not include wheat, rye or barley in the ingredients. Some GF crackers for the cheese boards would be good.
CLEANLINESS: Spotless everywhere.
STAFF: Outstanding and people you would want to know personally. Clearly a team that like each other which shows.
SUMMARY: Read some of my other reviews of hotels we have stayed at and compare to how I have reviewed the La Geria. You should stay here. Book direct, get a cheap flight, and jump on the bus. Relax, get a massage, walk into town, and chill out round the pool without have to see the sun rise to get a sunbed. You will love this place."
