"Estival Maramar Review – Beautiful Hotel, But All Inclusive Plus Needs Rethought
We stayed at Estival Maramar in Coma-ruga for a week from 27th July 2026. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and the hotel itself has a lot going for it, but unfortunately the “All Inclusive Plus” package was a major disappointment and is not what we expected from a 4-star All Inclusive Plus holiday.
The positives:
The hotel is beautifully decorated and is in a lovely beachfront location. Reception staff were friendly, and the manager in particular was incredibly helpful and approachable. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels provided, and it was spotless. There was a slight smell of smoke when we first arrived despite it being a non-smoking room, but I don’t believe this was the hotel’s fault.
The food was nice and there was always something available to eat. The pool bar had a more limited selection but the food was very nice, and it was a great alternative if you didn’t want to eat in the main buffet restaurant. Drinks such as beer, sangria, water and juice could be self-served, and we were able to refill our own water bottle throughout the day.
One of the biggest positives was the availability of sun loungers. Despite visiting in the height of summer, we had absolutely no problem getting one. There were even loungers available around 2pm, which was a pleasant surprise.
The All Inclusive Plus à la carte meal was also excellent. You get one visit included and the food was beautiful, with very generous portions.
Entertainment was a bit hit and miss. Tuesday and Friday were definitely the best nights for adults, while a lot of the other entertainment was outside and more geared towards children.
The location:
The hotel is right on the beachfront and the area itself is very quiet. There are only around 3–4 restaurants nearby, with some shops and a ferris wheel around a 10-minute walk away, but there isn’t a huge amount to do. Hopefully the area will become slightly more developed in the future while still keeping its charm.
One thing to be aware of is that the beach loungers are an additional €30 per person, despite being directly outside the hotel.
The biggest issue – All Inclusive Plus:
This is where we felt extremely let down.
We paid over £3,600 for our holiday, specifically booking a 4-star All Inclusive Plus package through Jet2. We expected this to include a reasonable selection of branded and international beers and spirits.
Instead, the hotel offered one beer – Estrella – and one whiskey as part of All Inclusive Plus. The beer was a Spanish beer rather than an international branded beer. There is a drinks menu with green and red dots showing what is included and what you have to pay for, even when you’re an All Inclusive Plus guest.
If you don’t like Estrella and only drink beer, you’re essentially left with no included beer alternative. We actually ended up having to go to the local shop to buy cans of beer ourselves, despite having paid for All Inclusive Plus. This was particularly frustrating as the restaurants nearby also mainly sold Estrella.
We even asked for a tomato juice and were told that we couldn’t have it because we were All Inclusive Plus guests. This really didn’t feel like an appropriate level of choice for a package advertised as All Inclusive Plus.
The fact that All Inclusive drinks stop at 11pm, while guests can continue buying drinks until midnight, was also disappointing. We were sitting chatting with our drinks in the lounge area around midnight when we were told the area was closing. Staff then asked us to move, switched off the lights and put a barrier up while we were still getting up from our seats.
Considering this is a communal lounge area away from the bedrooms, with reception and security operating throughout the night, we felt it should have remained available for guests for longer.
There were also a lot of rules and regulations throughout the hotel which, at times, felt unnecessary. For example, at the pool you were given one token per person for a plastic cup, which had to be returned at the end of the day to get your token back.
We also felt that half-board guests seemed to have more freedom with drinks than All Inclusive Plus guests, despite All Inclusive guests having already paid for their package upfront.
Jet2:
Our biggest frustration is that this was advertised to us by Jet2 as a 4-star All Inclusive Plus holiday, and in our experience it simply did not live up to that description.
The Jet2 representative was aware of the issues we were having with the All Inclusive Plus offering. We were told that she had been aware of similar issues previously, but unfortunately nothing was done to resolve the situation during our stay.
For us, this is the most disappointing part. If the hotel is advertised as All Inclusive Plus, we expect the package to actually feel like All Inclusive Plus.
Would we return?
Yes, we would consider returning to the hotel itself, because there were many things we genuinely liked. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and beautiful, the food was good, the beachfront location was lovely and the availability of sun loungers was excellent.
However, we would definitely not book All Inclusive Plus again. It would probably be several years before we considered returning, as there are too many things that need to be addressed first.
If you’re considering this hotel, I would recommend researching exactly what is and isn’t included in the drinks package before booking. Don’t book this hotel purely because of the “All Inclusive Plus” label, as in our experience it did not provide what we would normally expect from an All Inclusive Plus package.
A lovely hotel with lots of positives, but the All Inclusive Plus offering and the number of restrictions seriously let it down."
