SunClub Salou

"The Sunclub is a great hotel, we just come back and we can’t fault it at all. The room we stayed was basic but very very clean! For a Self catering holiday it was perfect, we used the supermarket down the road and made our own cooked breakfast each morning. The busses are easy to access, I would recommend the bus (No4 or No47 takes you to Salou) and if you’re unsure just ask the driver, all very helpful. Down the road is a lovely little beach and a few little restaurants. I highly recommend the Cap Salou restaurant (first on the left as you get to the bottom of the hill), Steak, chips and a free drink for €16! Salou itself is lovely, the beach is beautiful. Hotel opposite was loud with entertainment but tbf it’s a family hotel with families and kids on holiday so what do you expect ? Overall a brilliant hotel and we will be going back."

"We stayed for 10 days in a 2 bed apartment which was on the pool side 2nd floor. The room was in the shade in the morning with the sun coming around in the afternoon. It's a pretty standard room for this type of holiday, with air conditioning, a stove, kettle, fridge and microwave. There's a safe in the room that there is a fee to use. We had a shower, no bath. We found the beds to be very comfortable. We found the hotel clean and easy to navigate. The pool is in the shade during the morning and gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, generally it's quiet early on due to the cooler temperature. The pool will be cold in the morning so plan your day accordingly. We had mid 20s temperatures and in the afternoon the pool temperature was fine after the usual first minute or two. We only used the hotel restaurant once for lunch and it was okay. The entertainment is good with something for all ages, there are also pool tables and an arcade with a Mario Kart simulator, a Jurassic Park game and some other bits. The hotel supermarket is fine for essentials like milk, bread and such and the Michelangelo supermarket is a ten minute walk away, there is a steep hill to get back up. Around the supermarket you'll find a few bars and restaurants. The best for us food-wise were The Tropical and Grace O'Malley's. We had one meal at La Piazza which was a bit more expensive but really good Italian food. We also enjoyed a few meals at Pancho's, which is near the Bus Plana and bus stop Cala Font is a great little beach with sunbeds for hire at 10 euros each, the sea water is pretty shallow and clear of stones in the sand for a good way out so we spent a lot of time in there. Salou is a short bus ride away, as is Port Adventura, both can be accessed from the bus stop down the road. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and had no issues."

"We stayed in a one bed apartment which was clean and well equipped. We were on the 3rd floor. We were prepared for a noisy family oriented stay but, there is a hotel next to this that has constant microphone and music at ear aching volumes. If you are at all sensitive do not come here. Whilst we didn’t let it spoil our last minute get away, it was worse than any report on here advised and i did consider moving. Our balcony looked out over the pool and said offending hotel, the sun does not reach these balconies until about half four, so if you want sun you have to go down to the pool after one or the beach in the mornings. I’m sure families with young kids had a great time but it is not for couples at all. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone else’s conversations and sexual activity."
