H10 Mediterranean Village Apartments

"The hotel is located the quiet Cap of Salou about 10 mins drive from Salou. Check in- quick and smooth. A wristband for room access is provided for each guest, this can be uploaded with Euros for hotel payments as it is cashless.We opted to pay as you go with our card .A separate room card was given to us for the room electrics. The room safe -free of charge ,with easy instructions to select your personal pin. Prior to arrival we requested an easy access room which was granted and located on the ground floor accessed directly from the pool area. The Room - a good size with comfortable beds and choice of 2 pillows. Small flat screen TV and fridge. Good wardrobe space with plenty of hangers and sufficient drawers. The bathroom was an adequate size consisting of a rainfall shower over the bath and grab handle. A retractable washing line is located over the bath. Toiletry dispensers( shower gel/shampoo/ conditioner) we're located in the bath area and at the sink( soap/ hand cream). Disposable toothbrushes and comb were provided. A wall mounted hairdryer was located in the bathroom. An adequate supply of towels in the bathroom were changed daily or as required. Pool towels were only available with a deposit at reception. The room was cleaned to a high level each day. The balcony was a good size contained a table with 2 chairs and a free standing clothes drier. We looked directly into private housing and the hotel driveway was below. It was quiet, as requested but not in a sunny aspect of the hotel. Breakfast/Dinner We stayed on a half board basis. The dining room was sufficient size. The food was varied and plentiful. The staff constantly cleaned /cleared tables and replenished the buffet. At no time was it difficult to find something to eat. Many types of meat /fish and vegetables to choose from. A good selection of desserts/ ice cream and sweetie table for both children and adults! Breakfast - a variety of hot and cold foods with fresh bread and fruit. 2- Coffee/tea machines and juice dispenser at a station in each end of the room. Pool 10.00- 18.00 2 large pools within the hotel and a children's fun pool / splash pool opposite the main door of the hotel. All had life guards in attendance. At no time did we find it difficult to get a sunbed. The 2 main pool areas had varied amounts of sun and no one area had sun all day due to the tall trees surrounding the pool. There were no inflatables in the pool. Hotel Supermarket Not too badly priced and stocked essentials. Pizzeria We had pizza once during our stay. It was delicious. Pool snack bar Food made as ordered .Filled rolls , toasties, burgers and chips. We ate there several times and enjoyed the food. Entertainment The animation team were always busy trying to encourage the residents participation in the poolside games. These were simple ,fun and open to all ages. The evening entertainment was varied but mostly in Spanish. I did find the volume level too high, because of this I found it difficult to make out what the entertainers were singing/ saying. Bus/ Taxis There is a direct bus to Salou/Cambrils / Port Adventura in front of the hotel driveway/ barrier. Tarragona - the bus stop is directly across the road just in front of the plana shop Taxis rank- to the left of the hotel driveway/ barrier or can be ordered at hotel reception. There were a couple of restaurants/ bars in the Cap of Salou ( 5 mins walk to the right). A supermarket ( Michaelangelo - coffee & pastries or beer on the patio area recommended) and a Holiday Shop. The beach (small cove) Is accessed by a path across the main road in front of the hotel but has many steep steps before you reach the beach. There are a few coves further round the coast. Cleanliness All areas of the hotel are kept to a high standard of cleanliness which proved challenging during the thunderstorms but all staff were involved from the kitchen to reception to keep the area safe and water free. They must be highly commended for their actions as they were completely drenched. The staff at all times were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel if you wanted to be based in a quiet location but within travelling distance of other main attractions of this area."

"I would just like to say a huge thank you to the amazing staff at this lovely family hotel. After a lot of not great weather the team worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was looked after The food was great! Lots of choice even for a fussy husband, fresh and well cooked. The rooms were perfect for what you need and very clean! Housekeepers work hard and are very pleasant. What stood out for me was on our last night a Monsoon arrived at the hotel and every member of the team including chefs were out trying to stop the water from entering the hotel, they were absolutely soaking wet and they all went straight back to work serving our dinner/drinks etc! That’s dedication and they deserve an applaud from management. Will defo be back my boy enjoyed the pools and again they were clean and well maintained. Thank you H10"

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite some bad weather. The hotel is around 30 minutes from Reus airport and in a quiet area, a few bars/restaurants 10 minutes walk away and the nearby town of Salou (20 minutes bus ride) is big, has a lovely prom and lots of amenities. Our room was pool facing and kept spotlessly clean but the highlight was the food in the restaurant. We were half board and thought the food was amazing with plenty of choice and constantly being topped up. Evening entertainment every night was above average and generally bands/singers performing on an outdoor stage or indoor stage when wet. Really liked the wristbands which acted as door keys and able to pre-load money for drinks and food around the hotel. It allowed both of us to access the room and order drinks without having to carry around money or cards. Staff throughout were excellent, very professional but fun too."
