Ilunion Hacienda de Mijas

"The hotel is absolutely not four-star. We were a very large group who stayed there and some of the guests reported being bitten by bed bugs and others reported a sewage smell. I saw stains on several of our guests and I smelled sewage in several of the rooms, these rooms were dated. We ourselves stayed in a standard room and the bridal suite and they didn't clean it once without us having to ask, and when they did, they just made the bed. Neither coffee nor tea is served with dessert; you can buy it at the bar, but you are not allowed to bring the coffee into the restaurant where the dessert was served. The staff are unpleasant with the exception of a few. We weren't allowed to hang out in the yard after 11 PM because we constantly got warnings from the staff."

"Good and pleasant hotel. Fine spirit. Good buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and above all, quiet. Pleasant environment around restaurant, bar and pool. A disadvantage was that it was 1.5 km from Mijas pueblo."

"What a great find this little hotel was. Checked in very quickly by Aziz, a lovely gentleman always smiling. Room overlooking the pool and large terrace area, spacious with plenty of storage. Very comfortable bed with choice of pillows. Safe in wardrobe 3 euro per day. Fridge in desk cupboard. No problem with the air con and the temp was 30C. Chambermaids keep everything tidy and clean. Large restaurant area, plentiful choice of dishes to suit all tastes. Fernando keeps everything running smoothly here. Grounds kept immaculate, pool area cleaned every morning,lifeguard on duty all day, pool towels available. Plenty of sunbeds. Pool has a hoist to enable disabled guests to use the pool. Snack bar in corner of pool area. Tennis court at lower garden level. Bar staff very friendly, lovely terrace at the front of the hotel with mountain views, nice spot for a pre dinner drink. Parking on street outside, on large piece of waste ground or for 10 euro per day there is a secure car park across the road. Bus stop close by, taxiis easily sourced. Will be recommending Ilunion to family, friends and definitely returning for more of the same."
