Hotel Playas de Guardamar

"My husband and I have been to this hotel last October then in June and finally 2 weeks ago this October..we kept returning mainly because of the absolutely breathtaking beach right on the door step but unfortunately that's all this hotel has going for it. The rooms are clean but the walls are paper thin..there is an unofficial curfew in regards to the rooms as you cannot make any noise past midnight..no tv or music or even quiet conversation on your balcony which was fine the previous two occasions as we wanted a quiet stay and were usually in bed before then but on our second night this time we were hammer awake by security with a noise complaint about my husband snoring so that kind of did it for us especially when you can hear ever sound from the room next door but we would never had made a complaint about them coughing, using the toilet or snoring..there is no music piped in the lounge and very little entertainment only for kids and board games and the staff while efficient in there jobs don't go out of there way except one man the bar manager who could speak some English and made our hoilday this year and last..I noticed on all three occasions when your were served at the bar and spoke Spanish you automatically received some nibbles..crisps, olives nuts ect..and not once were either myself or my husband offered these..I know it sounds stupid but it made us feel unwelcome..we just love Guardamar beach and will return to the main town in June to another hotel as this one turned soured after that..I have to say I have never complained about a hotel in my life and go along with most things but this did it for us..BTW if your flight is delayed and you arrive in to this hotel after 12 everything is closed and the vending machines that provide the basics like snacks, water..ect in out experience are temperamental and we've gotten charged numerous times for items the machine never gave out so no water or anything to eat until breakfast the next morning when we asked reception they said they were independent from the hotel and there nothing they could do so be forwarded..."

"The facilities are not bad, but the buffet restaurant service is its weak point; this time the food quality has gone down compared to the last time I was here, and the fact that they don't include drinks is a negative point unless you are a pensioner, in which case they do include them."

"Absolute disappointment, the food is mediocre, full board doesn't even include water and on top of that you have to pay on the spot, which entails handling money at the table with food around. The spa costs €3 per person every two hours, a rip-off; we've stayed other times and it wasn't like that."
