Sir Victor

"Just finished a five day stay at Sir Victor. Generally speaking it is a well run property and I would stay here again. The hotel is in an exceptionally convenient location for enjoying all that Barcelona has to offer. What makes Sir Victor great is the excellent staff. To a person, everyone I encountered was friendly and very helpful. I would like to recognize Roser and Ricardo for the excellent customer service they provided during my stay. There are some things I did find unusual: Wood floors in bathrooms have never been a favorite of mine as you can't sanitize a wood like you can a tile floor. I found a floor lamp where its electrical insulation was stripped which could have resulted in a fire. Management needs to survey room conditions more carefully. Strangely, the towels situation at Sir Victor was very disappointing. The bath towels are not soft, and are the least thirsty I have seen in any 5 star hotel. You kind of scrape the towel against your wet skin to dry. Also oddly, the hotel does not supply hand towels or washcloths. The only place I could find hand towels in the hotel was in the gym. Finally there is no small towel to wipe yourself after using the bidet. To summarize, this is an area where management has a lot of work to do."

"Both my partner and I have stayed several times at the Sir Victor when it was the Ommm; we returned this time because the memory we had was excellent and the treatment we have always been given, as well as the quality of the hotel, was very good. This time it was very different; to begin with, they gave us a room on the first floor. We knew about the existence of the nightclub in the basement, but we had never had problems with the noise. This time it was not like that: the noise from the nightclub transfers to the rooms and the conversations and shouting of the people who stay at the hotel entrance can be heard from the room... until 3 in the morning. And they didn't warn us about this. Mind you, the price remains the same, a prime price that corresponds to a 5-star hotel, without receiving the treatment and quality. We let the front desk know the next morning, but they did nothing to relocate or compensate us. The atmosphere at the RoofTop is quite questionable, to say the least; it's clear that the clientele, for the most part, are not hotel guests, and we witnessed "strange" behavior from very young, foreign girls who were there for "other" reasons. Mind you, the RoofTop staff is excellent; very nice and very attentive. The only thing we were able to salvage from this stay. The room and terrace were not very clean; the amenities from before no longer exist, nor do slippers. It's clear, in general, that they have cut costs... but the price remains the same, or higher. We left thinking that we will not return, unfortunately."

"I spent one night in Barcelona. The hotel is conveniently located near the Passeig de Gracia, making it a convenient base for sightseeing. The hotel was clean and stylish and comfortable. The staff were friendly but attentive to the customer service and were comfortable throughout. I had no problem communicating in English. The rooftop bar has a great view, but it was quite hot during the summer, so I gave up on it this time. There was also a swimming pool, but I used the pool in the spa area the next morning because I was worried about tanning. Partly because it was the first thing in the morning, it was reserved and very relaxing. The hotel has a good balance of location, cleanliness and service, and is particularly recommended for short-term stays."
