"The room was nice but very tight spaces. No English breakfast tea or milk. Arrived at 9 pm and really wanted a cup of tea. There is no real concierge here. They are more concerned with their shop. What really annoyed me was that the breakfast next door at Simpli ( Simple) stuffed it up every single day for 5 days. They simply did not care about the hotel guests. Simples, I called it. More concerned with local walk ins that spend more money here than the fixed menu for Boa guests. It was so obvious and infuriating . We paid over $500 AUD a night here."

"We had a lovely stay. All we needed as we didn't do any self catering . We ate out. It's in a good location . On the whole Porto needs sturdy , comfy shoes re cobbles and hills ect. We loved walking everyday. Quiet location and there are a few small spaces to sit out for a glass of wine. Fairly close to the main town. Comfy beds. Lovely staff who are all so helpful and friendly. A nice little shop that sells very nice gifts/wine ect. You would never believe this little complex is behind this door on this street. A very pretty surprise. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Porto again. Thanks you for all your kindness."

"I rarely leave online reviews—typically, I only write 5-star reviews for exceptional stays or choose to remain silent. However, my experience at Village by Boa was so completely unacceptable that I feel a responsibility to provide honest feedback so other travelers do not fall for this scam. I am counting down the minutes until I can leave. Despite the branding, this is simply an old building in a poor location that has been given a superficial, cheap renovation. The conditions in my apartment were appalling. There was a sharp, repulsive musty odor coming from the living room sink pipes. The staff’s only solution was to pour some liquid down the drain, which did not resolve the issue at all. Furthermore, the housekeeping is downright atrocious. The room was coated in dust, my bedsheets had visible stains, and there was mold growing along the rubber seals of the bathroom door. On my first day, I noticed food crumbs on the bedside table—they were left completely untouched for my entire four-day stay. Basic hygiene and amenities were completely ignored; even after I dismantled the empty shampoo bottle to force the issue, housekeeping still failed to refill it. Additionally, dirty utensils left in the sink remained completely uncleaned even after their supposed "room cleaning." The property suffers from a severe lack of basic maintenance and cleanliness. If hygiene and quality matter to you, do not book this hotel. Finally, the customer service only added to the frustration. The staff was unhelpful and consistently displayed a poor attitude, particularly in the breakfast café. One morning, after waiting 20 minutes for my food, I politely informed a staff member that I was in a rush to catch a pre-booked sightseeing bus. Instead of an apology or any assistance, I was met with a dismissive "not my problem" attitude and bluntly told that she was busy. Staying here was an incredibly unpleasant experience that ruined my time in Porto. I will absolutely never return."
