"My mum and I chose this hotel for our trip to Porto and loved our stay so much! It felt like we were perched on a cloud over the most scenic, incredible part of the city and river. We hardly needed to leave to feel like we were immersed in the heart of the action. At all hours of the day, the views and atmosphere were fantastic. Location is absolutely perfect, and all of the other features of this magnificent hotel aside, this should be your top reason for staying! Five minutes across the bridge and you were at the Cathedral, or strolling the Ribiera waterfront. Two seconds across the road was the park for the sunset! Everything was so convenient and truly lets you relax and enjoy your time in the city without having to plan too much. The hotel itself is beautiful; clearly new and freshly decorated in a modern, luxurious style. The room - of which we had a superior - was small but very nice and we were pleasantly surprised by how big the bathroom was. The partial view was great and more than worth the very small upgrade. We loved the restaurant, wine bar and sky bar and even enjoyed the little terrace bar at the front of the hotel. The food was all very good. The pool area and sun loungers made for a really nice, and quite unexpected, respite from sightseeing - initially we thought it might be a bit overlooked by the foot traffic up on the bridge but this was not the case and we enjoyed a good level of privacy. It was lovely to take a book along after breakfast and enjoy the sun for a bit before heading off to explore. Speaking of breakfast, this was fantastic with plenty choices at the buffet and the à la carte menu. The Illy coffee was superb! Sparkling wine was also included which was a nice touch when you’re on holiday. We were also offered a glass of sparkling wine at check in which was appreciated. By far the main attributes of this wonderful hotel are its dedicated, professional staff who have mastered providing warm, friendly service without compromising on excellent standards of hospitality. Every single associate we encountered - from the check in desk to the breakfast team, the wine bar team to housekeeping - all were amazing and completely made our stay as memorable as it has been. Having never before visited any of the hotels in the Vincci portfolio I was not sure what to expect in choosing this property. I can honestly say that our personal experience was amongst the best we have ever had at this price point. If money was no consideration at all, I would still choose the Vincci Ponte de Ferro for all future trips to Porto. The location and views cannot be matched!
