"We’ve returned from an incredible stay at Martinhal Sagres Family Resort and I can honestly say it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made a lasting impression—every single person we encountered was genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive. What stood out most was how much time and care they gave to us and our toddler. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and their kindness felt completely authentic. It was also refreshing that there was no pressure at all to name-drop staff in reviews—they simply deliver exceptional service because they care. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning location on the Atlantic Ocean that feels peaceful yet perfectly designed for families. The facilities are outstanding—everything has been thought through with both children and adults in mind. There’s a fantastic range of activities, so whether you want to relax or keep little ones entertained, it’s all there. The food was another highlight—great variety throughout, and the seafood in particular was fantastic. What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail for families with young children. Our apartment was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed: a cot, nappy bin, and even a little backpack and mascot toy for our child, which was such a lovely touch and very much appreciated. We also arrived to a welcome pack with essentials like milk, juice, cornflakes, and jam—so helpful after travelling. During our stay, it was my husband’s birthday, and the team surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake in our apartment. It was beautifully done and such a thoughtful gesture that made the trip even more special. We’re not usually the type to return to the same place twice, but Martinhal Sagres has completely changed that for us—we will absolutely be back. Highly, highly recommend for families."

"We were very disappointed with our recent stay, especially considering Martinhal’s reputation as a family-focused resort. On the first day, our son became sick (likely from the food) and unfortunately vomited on the bed. We immediately contacted reception and requested cleaning, but no one came. We had to follow up multiple times, and only after the third request did someone finally arrive to clean the room. Upon arrival, we had also requested bed guards for our almost 3-year-old son. We were told they would be brought shortly, but they never arrived. The following day we asked again—more than once—and still no one brought them. As a result, our son had to sleep in a full adult bed without protection, which meant I barely slept as I was worried he might fall during the night. We had also booked the kids club, but I was informed that I could not stay with my son and had to leave him there. Given that he is not yet 3 years old, this was quite distressing for him and he immediately started crying when I tried to leave. Overall, the level of service we experienced was far below what we expected, particularly from a resort that markets itself so strongly toward families with young children. We visited during the low season, so we were especially surprised by the lack of responsiveness and support. I hope the management team takes this feedback seriously and looks into what happened during our stay, as it did not reflect the standard of service we were expecting from Martinhal."

"Friendly, customer oriented reservation process. We got a very nice room in the front row. Martinhal Sagres is certainly a good children oriented resort, but for people without kids quiet space for breakfast and dinner is missing. Also not so nice was that quite some restaurants were mentioned on the internet page, but only one restaurant was actually open. There was no bar close to our room. The heated pool is very nice, available also in the earlier morning. Personnel is very friendly and customer oriented."
