"I was not originally booked for this hotel but had to change to it because of the knock on effects of a flight change. I was a little apprehensive when I saw the reviews, particularly about the noise level, but I actually enjoyed my stay at the Rezydent.
Location
The hotel is situated literally a couple of metres from the town, which is pedestrianised. Because of this, the taxi could not drop us right outside so we had a short walk with suitcases to get there. Our room did overlook the shopping street and was a little noisy, but not enough that it disturbed our sleep, and ear plugs were provided - we didn’t feel the need to use them.
Room
We had a triple room, which was clean and spacious and contained two single beds and a day bed. I normally develop a bad back after a week in a hotel bed but these beds were so comfy. There was WiFi in the room but my teenagers were not entirely impressed with it. There was a kettle with mugs and tea and coffee sachets, but no milk was provided - this was not an oversight, there was a sticker stating this was the case. The room had a safe and hairdryer but no fridge; the information booklet stated there was a communal one available but we didn’t need to use it. There were only two plug sockets in the room and neither were close to the main beds. The bathroom was very spacious, although the shower was quite small for the space. Very powerful in general and perfect temperature, although it did reduce to a trickle at one point on one morning when I assume other guests were also taking showers.
Breakfast
The breakfast offering was ok, with hot items, bread, croissants, a selection of cereals and one choice of yoghurt available. The breakfast room was lovely and cosy, but the area with the breakfast buffet was quite small and dominated by a large pillar which meant it felt very crowded when more than just a couple of people were there. There were plenty of bakeries in the town with one directly opposite the hotel so we mostly bought pastries from those for breakfast. The hotel does not include lunch or an evening meal but there is an abundance of restaurants just down the road, including two which offered discounts to Rezydent guests.
Staff
The lady and gentleman on reception when we were arrived were friendly and helpful, giving advice on where we could get some groceries and how to get to the pick up point for our excursion on our first day. The staff in the breakfast room and the cleaning ladies were lovely. The two gentlemen on reception when we left were a little quieter, and didn’t ask how our stay was etc when we checked out, which we put down to a lack of confidence with English rather than rudeness.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I loved our stay in Krakow and would definitely return, and I would stay at the Rezydent again."
