New Port Hotel

"This hotel was amazing from start to finish, I booked as a surprise birthday for my boyfriends 21st and it was exactly what i wanted, it has that something little and is extremely accessible to the centre as we used bolt and uber and only payed at most £3 for a trip to the centre. The rooms were extremely clean with amazing views, and staff were lovely and helpful at reception, opposite hotel there was also an amazing fair which we had some fun nights at. Only things i would keep in mind is the rooms can rock a little which can make you a little queasy and it can be hard to get an uber back to the hotel due to surrounding works, but despite this would still go back :)"

"Amazing accommodation located on the river. Pods we're very modern with fantastic amenities and very clean. Attention to detail was superb, toothbrush, toothpaste, cotton pads and an emery board in a little package in the bathroom. Fresh towels daily and slippers and dressing gowns in the room. Hairdryer, tea making facilities and water complimentary and there's also a stocked mini bar for a charge. Great location with the castle and Basilica directly opposite and the old town a 20 min walk. Also having the Forum behind it was brilliant. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for all the bugs coming into the main hallway. They definitely could do with investing in fluorescent bug zappers in the hallway and also maybe change the door to open outwards not inwards. The door was covered in bugs trying to get in and obviously with the doors opening inwards it was carnage as soon as you opened them. I would definitely stay here again."

"Just wanted to warn you about this place if you’re travelling in the near future. Work is ongoing up until September. This unique accommodation is lovely but unfortunately is smack bang in the middle of a major construction site. They are building a new foot bridge over the river. We booked with EasyJet and weren’t warned at all about this. We had booked a premium room but as they were making a new footpath , our rooms became unavailable and apparently we were informed by reception that the management knew that this was going to happen but decided only to let people know when they arrived. We were accommodated in the basic rooms, numbered from 1-15 . Not what we paid for, very disappointing. We had 15 which is on an end right next door to a very loud and droning boiler. At night time it really gets in your head. Also had no hot water for 4 hours one morning, apparently nothing was wrong with the system🤔. They try and get around you with a free breakfast everyday but we only received one day’s worth of tickets. What a shame our dream was ruined. Hope this helps someone else save being disappointed."
