"This place is quite hard to find as there are no signs on the door. When I knocked no-one answered, but luckily someone nearby knew the managers number and rang him and he came to let me in. Not the most encouraging start. The room was fine but small. The bed was comfy and there were extra blankets, but there was limited places to put my belongings. There was also no bin in my room AND NO LOCK ON THE DOOR whatsoever. When I asked why there was no lock, the manager said, 'oh it's ok we have cameras in the hall'. This made me nervous as I thought I had paid for security and privacy. The place is like a house not a riad. You can use the small kitchen to cook or make coffee, which is nice. Simo the manager is a nice helpful guy, but he really should sort out some of the practical issues. The bathroom is pretty grotty, though the dribbly shower had hot water. One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of internet, I could barely access it as it just was not working. This was incredibly disappointing as I had stuff to do online. There is also no roof space to sit in the sun, which most riads have. The house is in a good location to explore the souks and only 10 mins walk from the Jmaa el Fna, and near to some other attractions, like museums and gardens. I was alarmed to see that someone had been in my room while I was out. When I asked who had done it and why, they just said they had gone into the drawers to get some belongings. (Their belongings are left in your bedroom furniture). This is a very ameteurish set up, experiencing too many teething problems. When I asked what time breakfast was I was told after 10am which seemed rather late to me. The food was ok, but I have had much better in Morocco. If the internet and security were sorted, breakfast served earlier, and bathroom upgraded it would be a passable place to stay, but as it is I feel they are overcharging. The good points are that there is a washing machine should you need it, it is pretty peaceful and I slept well, there is a simple rustic charm, and Simo was kind and friendly. The bad points I have previously outlined. Reviews for this place were very scarce, and suffice to say if I knew then what I know now I would not have booked to stay there, however it was a last minute budget booking with limited availability in town, and it sufficed as a place to sleep."
