"“5 star’s Excellent”
I have just returned from a birthday 3 nights stay at this Venetian Gem of a hotel,
as a disabled female in a motorized wheelchair,
as you can imagine ,there are many problems due to the structure of this enchanting magical 13 th century city,
but with all the stress of getting into Venice city ,when my wheelchair accessible boat arrived with lift m & ,placed my wheelchair on on the Monaco dinning terrace my stress melted away,
greeted by my smiling Venetian family of staff,
they were there to greet me ,
the only reason I keep staying at this beautiful hotel is the amazing staff & new management,
it was my fist time booking the new wheelchair accessible adapted room with this hotel
seeing the faces of all he wonderful” handsome” concierge Mario, & Nicola,
he is so lovely & friendly we talk about his family,
& Mario he is charming & friendly ,
he took time to escort me from the hotel onto the busy public vaparetto ,
& came with me to the beautiful Gritti Palace for my Birthday Lunch,
,’& the 2 other male concierge that greeted me off the boat, smiling ready to help in anyway ,
also the lovely helpful porter robert ,
who always remembers me with a lovely smile.
nothing was to much for him ,
when I had a problem with the bed,
as I can not lie flat due to my medical condition,
when asked he brought 6 pillows to my room in under 10 mins & helped build the bed up with the pillows ,
so happy to see me again offering help,
& all the friendly helpful beautiful ladies at reception ,
greeted me with Italian kisses on my birthday morning ,
& lovely Enrica who helped me when I was upset with a banking checkout problem,
& the lovely Davide in reception,
who made a kind gesture of upgrade to golden leaf wheelchair larger accessible room ,
when I opened the door to wheelchair accessible 320,
I burst into tears,
as the Monaco have got disabled rooms perfect ,
so beautiful & feminine with Venetian glamour,,
with the beautiful gilt ceiling ,murano chandeliers ,
large turning space for a motorized wheelchair ,
with beautiful carved bed & most importantly a fully wheelchair accessible wide doorway into room,
& adapted bathroom,
lovely marble bathroom with wet room shower drain on floor,
white seat with handrails, & emergency help call button ,
lovely silver hand rails on the toilet & wheelchair height marble sink,
so disabled guests experience the beautiful Venetian interiors with just a few adjustments ,
to help us & make us feel like normal guests,
the Monaco is excellent for disabled quests ,
It’s so easy being in your wheelchair, there is not one obstacle ,
from the terrace into the hotel lobby ,into the lifts ,into the bedrooms.,
even the lift fits a bigger motorized wheelchair,
& if you have a smaller foldable manual wheelchair it’s a breeze ,
the Monaco grand canal would be my number one hotel to book if you are disabled or have mobility issues
my second would be the Gritti Palace,
the lovely staff arranged a beautiful surprise on my birthday morning ,
when I was having my “Beautiful Birthday Breakfast “
watching the the sparkling sunshine of the grand canal water from the terrace
they brought me a
“Buon Compleanno Birthday “plate,
with a chocolate cake & candle ,
which was very touching ,
the last 2 staff members I must mention,
is the “handsome charismatic restaurant manager ,
”who was amazing with me & my wheelchair,
friendly helpful nothing was too big a problem,
even before I got to the table
he had anticipated my wheelchair & removed chairs.
he also of got his excellent friendly waiting staff to help ,me with bringing my food from the breakfast buffet out on the terrace,
also noticing to bring a glass of water to take my medications ,without being asked ,:
”in the evening what a beautiful setting before bed
,drinking “chocolato caldo”or a peach Bellini from the bar on the Monaco terrace,
with the reflection of the white “Santa Maria Della salute church”
the restaurant food is excellent,
5 stars & ,reasonably priced for the magical setting,
they work so hard always with a smile,
& finally the new manager Enricco massomoto,he is handsome charming & friendly & welcoming ,
It comes from the he top ,
if you have happy staff,
& at the Monaco he runs a great team,
me being disabled in a Italian country is a worry if any emergency happened ,
in the hotel during the night ,
but he assured me ,all of his team & the staff new of my limited movement ,
especially when I have night medication & that iam in my wheelchair with disability,
& that I would be the first guest they would come to help ,
so that’s reassuring,
please book this hotel ,
if you are disabled,
as there is no problem the staff can’t deal with ,
they are all amazing,
“Well Done Monaco “
staff 10 out of 10 Excellent,
