"Stepping back in time ,into the 13th century, in the magical Gritti Palace ,
I have just returned from my birthday trip in magical Venice ,
to my Italian family in the Gritti Palace ,,
this hotel & staff & management are all amazing & give 5 star in Excellence in of service,
Seeing the handsome concierge staff & Michele
he’s so wonderful & friendly he remembers me every time ,
with a smile & Italian welcome kiss, baci,
as it was my birthday,
the beautiful lady reception manager Silvia,
again she remembered me and came from her desk to hug & kiss me.l,
also Ivan the reception manager & all staff are wonderful,,
the Gritti is accessible if you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues,
although the lifts are quite tight to get into ,& you have to go in backwards,
as there is no turning space,
but everywhere else is accessible ,
the amazing Gritti terrace ,the lounge & all areas,
the only motorized wheelchair accessible bedroom room is the “gigilio prestige room”
or Venitian room,”
or a very expensive suite ,which I could never afford,
it was lovely chatting to Silvia about her family ,
& the wonderful Michele from concierge chatting about his family & working in venture ce city,
he escorted me from the Gritti to the public vaparetto stop back to the Monaco & grand canal after my birthday stay,
nothing is too much bother for him, always smiling & cheerful ,
this place is fabulous Venetian glamour .’at its best ,
where else can you sit having a beautiful birthday lunch with gondola passing by,
the glittering of the of the sunset on the grand canal,
daily Venetian life passing by as the locals navagate their daily life on the boats,
it’s amazing to watch the canal traffic,
And finally “my favourite staff member. ,
“Mr Sergio “the handsome charismatic restaurant manager ,
he is amazing again welcoming me with Italian birthday kisses,
the club del doge beautiful restaurant is amazing ,
Venetian fresco, murano chandeliers ,what beautiful ambience ,
Sergio always looks after me,it’s the little touches that make hospitality wonderful ,
& he knows how to do it well ,
he is so professional at his trade ,
you can tell he has many years of hospitality experience ,
he is a asset to the Gritti Team,
even before I asked ,he anticipated he removed chairs for me to access the table,
even noticing that when I tried to lift a bottle of water to take my medication ,
& my hands were shaking ,he quickly got a member if staff to pour the water,
then in the evening he made space for me to sit in club del doge ,
& present me with a lovely surprise ,
of a “Buon Comleanno Angelina “ birthday plate,
& made sure all his lovely restaurant staff came to my table to wish me happy birthday,
also it was a pleasure to meet the handsome new French Italian restaurant manager,
he was so lovely chatting to me ,
he’s very nice & charming ,
the Gritti Palace staff all look after their disabled guests no problem is too great,
the new manager is lovely ,
very nice & friendly he introduced himself ,
if there was anything he could do to help ,
much more friendly than the previous manager Mr P Lorenzoni ,
who was not very friendly & asked every one in th hotel, for there room number before he would speak to you he was very grumpy ,
It’s a good management change,
as all the hard working lovely Gritti staff deserve a good manager ,
if you are disabled or have mobility issues then the Gritti is a wonderful hotel ,
they do accommodate wheelchair disabled guests.
Well Done the Gritti Palace Hotel,10/10 Excellent service,
con Amore Angelina,Baci Xx"
